What to do? We are planning a trip to Disneyland the week of June 20th - 24th. We had made the decision to stay at the grand californian but now I can't find ANYWHERE online that has those dates available to stay there. I've tried travelocity, disneyland.com, expedia, and the like. Do I call the hotel? Is it normal that the entire hotel fills up like that at times during the summer?? Anyone have any tips, ideas??

We really wanted a nice place to stay and a convenient place as well. Are there any that are nice that have a shuttle or something?

It is normal for the hotels to fill up during busy times, especially now for the 50th. You could try calling the hotel, or keep checking because something may open up.

I forget if that map shows it or not, but the crosswalk to get into DL is at between the Mom's Restaurant (now called something else -- some piratey name) and IHOP.

Some of the hotels are nearly as close a walk to the park as if you were staying at GC. Just as nice? I don't know -- depends on your definition I guess. I've found tripadvisor.com to be an awesome resource. Hotels are ranked based on how positive the reviews were; it'll give you some idea of the niceness factor anyway.

If you don't mind a shuttle trip then I would suggest Embassy in Garden Grove. We loved it there, great customer service, nice size rooms, great breakfast and a manager's reception at night. It's really a nice place.

Also, I've heard wonderful things about Sheraton Anaheim, it's the one that looks like a castle from the I5, Mary Jo recently put up pictures from this one if I'm not mistaken. Also, these two generally fill up slower than the Harbor places. Good luck!

I'm sure with the 50th, they probably have filled up more quickly than most years. We probably went a little overboard and made reservations at the DL hotel last Sept. for this Aug. I hope you find something that will work for you!

Thanks a bunch I went to trip advisor and Fairfield seemed to have some really good reviews. We really wanted to stay in luxury at the Grand however the reviews for the Grand were "lots of money for JUST a hotel." Guess it's a matter of trying each and judging for oneself! THanks for the info

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I called and although the GC is booked the days we want to go they got us into the Sierra Tower at Disneyland Hotel (I guess it'st he closest to the monorail) So I think we're going to go with that Thanks a bunch for your help!!
