No availability first week of June

Hi Everyone,

I was looking at adding another room for the first week of June (1-9). When I went to the website it showed that there is zero availability on Disney property. This was surprising- I thought something, even a suite, would be open.

Are the hotels that are open full to capacity or at a reduced capacity?
Is there something going on that it is completely full?

Thanks!
We’re going Sunday. I’ve been trying to add a night. There is nothing available anywhere. It’s hard to believe!

The hotels that are open are at full capacity, except for CL accommodations. I just tired and rack rate is available at...
  • ASMovies
  • CBR
  • AoA
  • CR
  • CR/BLT
  • FW Cabins
It does seem that you are out of luck if you wanted a discounted room, I think that inventory is all sold. Demand is huge this summer as people are desperate to make up for lost travel. Edit: AoA suite is only thing available at the discount.

This checks out. Even back in March when I finally made the painful decision to cut our 2 week at GF/YC trip down to an 8 day solo split for me, it was brutal trying to find availability at those 2 resorts 5/29 - 6/5. I ended up having to pay rack rate for my last night at YC. And like I said, that was in March. Good luck with that now.

Vaccines being widely available, school breaks starting, "revenge" travel, stimulus burning holes in people's pockets and people feeling more comfy distance traveling are all adding up to a busy start of the summer season. I think those slow summers we saw in the past couple of years prior to Covid are a thing of the past, at least in the near term future.

This is probably a dumb question but I was noticing that DVC rooms seemed pretty booked up while you could still pay cash on the Disney side for DVC properties. How does that work - I know Disney holds some points obviously at each resort, but does Disney sometimes hold rooms they think they will rent for cash and then if not rented they might release them for points bookings?
