Not sure if its overly anxious people waiting for a discount, Veterans day, a convention, or the food and wine festival but all non-concierge rooms at YC/BC and BWI are sold out for (at least) Nov-14. I, for one, am disgusted with this revalation. Should I have no hope in getting a discount at all on Veterans Days weekend this year??

Not only is it Veterans Day/Weekend, it's the last weekend for Food and Wine Festival and also Super Soap Weekend at MGM. Lots going on which would probably count for why there booked up for the weekend. You may have to spend a night or two elsewhere (try monorail hotels) for that weekend and then move when there is availability.

Y & B and BW are booked mainly because of Food -n- wine festival but it's also just a popular time to be at WDW -- many who go this time of year have booked well in advance knowing that if a discount code comes up they can just call and have it applied to their ressie - Keep calling daily though, people make cancellations all the time so you may be able to get what you're looking for if they get a cancellation. As for the discounts, they may or may not come out -- but if you can get the ressie you're looking for -- book it and if the code comes out have it applied as I just mentioned -- that's what many of us do;) If you book room only, you can cancel up until 5days prior to your trip.

Im taking it you didn't notice the jab I took at people for doing this. It gives Disney no reason to offer discounts if the rooms are full!!!

Do not give up! I have found that availability changes all the time!
According to mousesavers, there were only AP rates and Fla res. rates avail. last year for those dates anyway - no room-only codes.

I just looked on AAA.com and Expedia, and both of those websites are offering the Yacht club for $289 plus tax, standard view, for Nov. 10-14. Expedia also had the Boardwalk standard view for same price, Nov. 11-14, but not the 10th. So, it's not completely, completely sold out yet. But I don't know if I would count on getting a nice discount though.

All International Gateway Resorts book up fast this time of year because of F & W Festival.

At first, I encountered the same problems when trying to book 3 rooms for our Grand Gathering on November 6-12. I was advised by the CRO that availability of rooms was limited to concierge level at the BWI. There were no concierge rooms left at the YC, but there was one left at the BC.

I requested and was given a AAA rate at the Boardwalk, which is 15% off the regular value season rate. I am paying $361.25 which includes all the benefits of the concierge level.

Although I originally wanted a standard room, when I compare this rate to a waterview room which is priced at $360, I think we are getting a pretty good deal.

You might try the Swan or Dolphin. It's between the BWI and BC/YC and a deluxe hotel as well. I think S/D has around 2,000 rooms between the two hotels. Also often has good rates, but maybe not during such a busy time--F& W Festival and Super Soap Weekend.

Maybe Susan Lucci will share her suite with you!;)

I recommend you call the CRO and ask for a AAA rate on any of the rooms as the BC, YC or BWI. I got the AAA rate, but it was only available on the concierge level.

From checking out other posts, where you have to go elsewhere to find breakfast, I think the convenience of the concierge lounge itself is worth the extra dollars. However, with the AAA rate, we got it at 15% less than the value season rate for November so we are getting the room at the same price as the regular rate based on a waterview room.

I think it's a no brainer!::yes::
