No Ap rates left

Just got off the phone to WDW were I was after an AP rate for the ASM for our upcoming trip. Well the kind lady searched and searched, but there was nothing for the dates we wanted 5th-9th Dec
So I asked for another resort the same reply nothing. Then the kind lady done a total search of every resort, guess what nothing at all. I cant believe it, no AP rates at any resort. Oh well I will keep trying somebody might cancel. Fingers crossed.

I called 2 days ago -- also for dates starting on Dec. 5th -- I was trying for AKL. (I know! I should've booked this when the rates came out, but I had already booked the Swan and I didn't know I was going to change my mind. )

Anyway, they had nothing at AKL or WL and the only resort they had to offer me was CBR. I guess they don't even have that now.

But I intend to call again. You never know what's going to happen. People cancel.

That is probably why you are having a hard time finding any discounted availability.

I too had tried to book some family for that weekend as well. But had heard on the boards many say how difficult it was to get a discounted rate for that weekend. The MVMCP starts that week so that may be why, it sounds like it will be busy. So I tried the following weekend Dec 12th. No problem not only did I get the disounted rate but my choice of any of the moderate resorts.

So nobody go that weekend. That way my family wont have to deal with a lot of lines and congestion.

you never know. even if there is a convention of sorts, the sooner it gets to the date, the more likely the resorts will release rooms. maybe one will have your name on it! good luck and keep trying

I did ring back later on last night and was offered ASMu from the 7th-9th. I took it

I will keep ringing back though to see what else becomes available, see if I can get the other 2 nights

Did you get an AP rate on those dates? I'm trying to get AKL Concierge with an AP rate and all of the CMs keep telling me I will never get it because once an AP room is cancelled it goes back into general inventory at rack rate. Just wondering if this is true.

Yes that was a AP rate.

As regards to the rooms going back to rack rate, I cant comment.

Only thing I can say is keep trying, it is nice when you get a CM that tries that little bit harder, as they did last night for us.
