No AP discounts yet BUT.....

I just called CRO and asked about AP discounts for the Spring /summer.
She said they were not out yet but will be out very soon.
I asked how soon... the next couple weeks? She said to try back tomorrow morning. I don't know if she is right or wrong but I know I'm calling in the morning

Im with you MrsJ Henry I will be calling in the AM too. I mean it has to be one of these days!

In the last 2 times I have had the same cm Cameron that answered the phone. He remembered me from the morning before!

Our vacation is April 18-22, I called yesterday and asked if there were any codes by my name...she siad she would check, but if there were I would already have recieved something in the mail..

She then replied that, "no, there were no codes..."

i just called cro to make a reservation at cbr for may. i at least wanted to book the room while i wait and wait along w/ all of you for ap rates and codes. i asked the cm about ap rates and he said they were not out, but should be out really soon. he said that to me twice. he told me to keep checking. i know all the cms say different things and they don't know when the codes will be out, but the cm i talked w/seemed pretty confident. i didn't have to ask him to check for other discounts associated w/my name or address. he checked w/o me asking. he even checked my old addresses that they had on file still to see if any discount was there. i'm going to keep praying and hope that "soon" isn't weeks from now.

I called yesterday to modify my April 14th-17th ressie and my cast member voluntered what she knew about the codes before I even asked. She said that they had been asking the supervisors when the codes would be out and where told the same thing- soon! They want to know as badly as we do so we'll all stop asking

I spoke w/ CRO yesterday and was told the same thing. They are all asking their supervisors about it and are being told "soon". Later in the day I spoke w/ Disney Dining to check on some changes I'm hoping to make to my PSs. She was SOOOOO helpful and actually called resorts directly to see if I could make a reservation even though her system said the restaurant was full for tables of 4 (they had room for tables of bigger parties). On 2 of them she succeeded!!! I said: "gee, I know it's not your side of the business, but you've been so helpful and knowledgable...do you know ANYTHING about AP discounts for late April coming out any time soon?" She said she would call a friend at CRO and let me know. After about a 5 min wait she came back and said there are no codes yet....but it seems like they're gearing up for heavy call volume.....

Codes were/are already out for travel dates thru April 16..any new codes will be for April 17 and after....

Well, the peak season w/ an AP code (in effect through 4/16) is lower than std season (starting after 4/16) w/ only AAA or no code. Wise move for now.

Very correct. The agents that answer the phones do not have information about the release of discounts until they are downloaded in the computer. The standard answer they are told to tell anyone asking, is soon.

As you stated they are simply wanting to get you off the phones so they can answer the thousands waiting to call and book a trip. They are much more interested in the person booking then calling for discounts.

Discounts will be posted here and on Mousesavers the moment they are available.

A friend that works for CRO said she was amazed at how many people call to ask about discounts and tie up the phones, yet many complain when they are on hold for long periods of time.

In the past CMs DID find out a day or so BEFORE the AP rates were released because their computers would show something "pending". Several times it would show up but they would be unable to book it until they were officially "released." I am not sure how it works now with the new system. Disney has released AP rates as close as "days" before they expired. There has never been any rime or reason to it. Probably why we all beheave like manics until there out!

I know, thanks though. I live in Florida so we stay at least one weekend a month so I'm also waiting for the summer codes to come out.

You are right... She may have been "just trying to get me to hang up" BUT She was very nice and chatty with me so I'll make the call tomorrow. The way I see it.... it sure can't hurt!!

I just went out on the AP site and the site has changed since this morning. Call me crazy, but maybe they loaded the codes and updated the site to be effective tomorrow??? All this seems to coincide with the AP code release notes....
