We probably won't have time to get in another trip in within 12 months...

So, upcoming 7 day/6 night trip just looking for park tics...

Is there a deal for DVC members out there?

There is no discount on MYW tickets for members, only the savings on the AP & PAP.

Undercover Tourist with the Mousesavers email link is probably the best pricing you may find.

I buy my tickets through AAA. They are a tad cheaper than at the park. I usually buy a base ticket and upgrade at the park.

I also have their credit card which gives rebate certificates. I save them and use them towards tickets.

While it looks like I should just get this $399 AP and hope I can squeeze another trip as the regular tics + hopper are like $370 or so for 7 days anyway...am I missing something

I think the $399 deal is great. I already purchased my vouchers. Usually I buy the AAA tickets and upgrade to a DVC AP, but this was pretty much a no brainer.

Look at it this way - it gives you an excuse to plan a second trip in the same calendar year. :thumbsup2

And - No - I don't think you are missing anything. I haven't bought a regular ticket since I joined DVC. The APs just make more sense.

i have the same situation.

Do I buy the PAP at 1700.00 for 4 people or just 5 day MYW for 1100.00

Is I get the PAP and don't go back within 12 months I'm wasting 600.00

If I don't get the PAP and go back and have to spend another 1100.00
it's costing me an extra 500.00.

Still haven't decided yet, still have 18 days to make up my mind

I buy the 10 day non-expiring tickets. Most of our trips we spend only about 60% of our time at the parks -- we enjoy our non-park swimming days, especially when we travel at Spring Break. This year, I added the water park option, so that gives us 20 days of "parks", so it's going to be a few years before I have to purchase again.

How many actual park days would you use on that 7 day ticket? Another thing to consider is the PAP will get you a 20% merchandise discount at many locations.

Remember, the annual pass provides other benefits besides park admission. Even if it is a couple hundred dollars more for them, you may be able to recoup that cost with shopping and restaurant discounts. Then if you do go next year, even a short trip is attractive.

Not to highjack the thread, we purchaes out park hoppers from UC, can they be upgraded to AP thru Disney?

We are in the same predicament. We have a seven night trip planned in April.

We go to the parks every day and park hop. We don't do rope drops but sometimes we walk to Epcot, spend some time and then maybe head to MK via the monorail.

We will probably buy the PAP voucher and activate them in April.... but it will end up costing more money by luring us back within the year. :rolleyes2

With all the new perks being tossed out, you never know what might happen in the upcoming year. As other's have suggested the PAPs do offer many discounts and there could be a great follow up offer for renewal rates:wizard: Ticket prices increase at least once a year, typically in July. If you'll be purchasing tix after that date, might want to include the increase in your decision. Additionally, if short on points for a 2nd trip, there are often attractive AP rates via CRO.

If you want to buy the discounted DVC PAPs under the current promotion: before the end of this year, you need to use the UCT tix one day. Then, bridge them via presenting them (and your DVC and photo ids') at the park gates and paying the difference in order to upgrade to the PAP

Thank you.

Other things to factor in: the PAP also includes the Water Park Fun & More options and gets you a 20% discount on merchandise purchases.

While it looks like it's $850 PAP for my son and I for
12/26-1/2...unless there is a significantly cheaper option for park hopping tics...I will probably do that and try and get back within 12 months...
