No AAA discounts in 2015????

I booked with AAA at rack rate for the POLY in June, 2015. I am still hoping that they restore the AAA discount, so I can get the 10% off. Rack rate for the POLY is way too high!!!!!

There was an announcement earlier this year that they were ending partnership with AAA. They've already taken out all the extras for this year, so the rates were the last thing to go.

This is correct. The partnership will not be renewed for 2015 and forward.

I wonder if CAA is impacted as well. I just went to my local CAA site and they are still advertising 20-30% vacation package discounts.

I've only heard they're still negotiating through 1 post on this message board. I honestly can't picture Disney sending notice to everyone that they're eliminating their partnership with AAA unless they were 100% on it. The fact that 2014 didn't offer any of the extras AAA packages used to receive was very telling. It's been a year in the making. I would make backup plans for discounts.

Is that for this year, or next year though?

They still have discounts through the rest of 2014.

The price we booked through AAA was the exact same price that was on the Disney Web site. No discount - no extras. Then they wanted $20 p/p to book the airfare. Really I can do that myself for FREE. If you choose an airline that does not come up on the Disney travel web site (AKA Southwest)
Will stop booking with AAA if they are not giving anything better.:headache:

AAA website highlights Swan and Dolphin only (at least here in Southern New England)

We booked our trip through AAA for Nov 2014 like we always do. Will still get the diamond parking, 2 included passes to Disney Quest, and all the other stuff we have always received with a AAA booking. My agent did confirm last week that AAA and Disney did not reach a deal for 2015 though. So no more diamond parking, etc.

I just got off the phone with Disney, calling for AAA rates for room only in 2015, and was told they are ending their relationship as of January.
I was really surprised. I don't think there's a hotel on the planet that doesn't offer AAA discount.

Here's an idea or maybe a question...

If there will be no AAA discount in 2015, then perhaps Disney bookings will be down and there will be more Disney discounts.

Maybe I'm grasping at straws, but I would think that the whole AAA thing has to effect Disney bookings at some level.

I wonder which party is being the PITA to work with. :lmao:
Just speculation ...

I would think AAA has more to gain from the relationship, Disney has to be a large portion of their travel business.

In the current business climate I think Disney is doing quite well. In the last 5 years Disney stock (DIS) has risen 247%. So Disney is probably thinking they don't need an across the board discount such as AAA offers. So, I'll bet Disney is being a PITB. Sorry had to clean it up a little for the DISBoard :)

I doubt it. Most people look for the AAA discount after deciding to go to Disney. Without one, it's unlikely most would change their plans entirely. They'll just be more people trying to snag one of their discounts now.

It will certainly change my plans for 2015. I travel in October and the 15% discount that was offered at POFQ was often the best discount available for that time frame. Usually the discount offered by Disney for PFQ was around 5%.

I'm probably not going in 2015 as I have a Disney cruise planned for May.

Keep your eyes open on these boards...Orbitz sometimes has 20% off discounts and last year they included POFQ...that is how we booked our trip and it was the best discount we found for POFQ for our travel dates...as you said, the WDW discounts were never as good for it...

Obviously, with anything, there's always someone that goes against a generalization.

A typical family usually decides where they want to go, and then starts looking into going and pricing it out. My first trip it never even occurred to me to see about a AAA discount.

Obviously, most people don't know the percentages off the top of their head like you do.

Well, this just stinks. The major reason I even have AAA is for the room discount. LOL

Will they be ending the part tickets discounts also???

When I priced out my tickets for May 2015, AAA was about 5% cheaper for Park Hopper w/ Waterparks. Not much of a discount
