No AAA Card but was able to book a room with a discount

That's my take too, though I think our overall opinion actually differs.

The AAA rates are clearly identified as AAA rates. The non-triple AAA rates are not identified as such (don't have the AAA logo after them).

Note the above wording does NOT say "all rates above"...only "AAA/CAA member rates AS IDENTIFIED ABOVE". To me, that very specifically means only the ones identfied as AAA rates...and not the others.

The one time I booked a AAA package over one year ago, we were asked to show our card. I would be very concerned about showing up without a AAA membership card and would not rely on one TA's word when there are so many people on this thread advising that cards were checked. To me, it would be like showing up without my AP ticket when I was given an AP rate (which I had to activate my AP voucher within 24 hours when I checked in or they would have charged me rack rate). Please, just be careful as I want your trip to start off without a hitch! Good Luck!

I've never booked any WDW package. However, I HAVE booked the room-only with a AAA discount, and each time I had to give my AAA number before the CM would check for the AAA rate.

I get a LOT of mileage out of our AAA membership, and not just for travel services. To me it's like having a cellphone...I wouldn't want to drive anywhere without it!

Well, that is the question now isn't it. Through AAA web site you can book hotels, cars, etc. It's open to anyone to book a reservation -- not just AAA members. Certain bookings will say AAA Discount and that you will need a membership to get that rate. Other bookings will not. The Disney one does not say AAA discount.

People responding to the OP need to have read this response....because it sure looks like people are posting assuming she's trying to book a AAA rate room without a card....and she's not. She's trying to determine if the AAA web site ALSO offers non AAA rates to non-members.

It's an important distinction and I think it's getting lost in the mix.
