no 40th anniversary celebration?

Isn't it WDW's 40th anniversary this year?

Are there any celebrations planned?

Haven't heard of any sort of celebration yet. I too would be interested to hear if anything is being planned, however, we were just at Disney last month and we are going on a non Disney trip in October, so even if there was a celebration....we won't be there

There has not been anything announced at this point. Personally I think the 40th will go by much like the 25th at Epcot, not really a big deal. With WDW celebrating the 50th DLR anniversay worldwide a few years ago and the 100th bday of Walt several years ago it would be a little confusing marketing wise to start celeberating a 40th 7 years after the celebrated a 50th anniversary.

We will be in MK 10/1 and plan on looking to see if any ceremonies are taking place and will be attending if so.
