NMAmy's To Do List - 4/26-Update-Page 21-The End

Props to my pal for keeping up this pre-report. :goodvibes She is just so hip I can't stand it.

When you said you were going to post a pic of Cait, I was waiting and I looked and it was Sunny...I hadn't scrolled all the way down yet and I'm saying to myself - Self, that's the D-O-G not the C-A-I-T...

:rotfl:

Am...I have a revision of what I asked you to get me if that's ok...

Oh, yeah, guess what? I've been sick since Monday! (Again)

LYMI!

Kay--thanks so much for stopping by considering your pre-trip report policy. :rotfl2: I thought you might enjoy my own personal stunt show seeing as how we both have issues with balance. ;)

wdw_girl_18--thanks for reading, I'm glad you enjoyed it so far!

:rotfl2: Yeah, well, sometimes I call the dog Caitlin and sometimes I call Caitlin "Sunny" so, you know, they're pretty interchangeable for me. Caitlin is a better conversationalist but Sunny gets in less trouble so it all evens out. ;)

You've been sick again? Is it the same thing? Poor MM--you need to get over this stuff, woman!

And, yes, of course, you can make a change to your order. Just let me know so I can put it in my notebook. (I'm such an organizational freakazoid, I actually have a notebook full of notes to myself.):rotfl2:

It's been a busy weekend between cleaning for our housesitter (which Alex feels is silly seeing as he's a college kid but I insist upon!) and shopping for the trip. I managed to find a couple new pairs of shorts and a new pair of jeans. I did break down and realize that my fancy new diet is NOT working out and I bought the shorts. How can those shorts be labelled the same size as my old shorts and yet the new ones fit and the old ones don't? I get annoyed when they keep changing the sizes. Alex bought a fancy new pair of cargo pants. He feels the pockets will come in handy and plans on renting them to Caitlin and I for a little extra spending money.

Cait has a very odd sixth sense about when I'm somewhere that I could purchase something interesting for her. I don't think I've been to the mall since she left here after Christmas. Alex & I had were just walking through the mall and my cell phone rings.

Cait: Mom? What are you doing?
Me: We're at the mall.
Cait: Could you pick me up some flip flops at Hollister?

:rotfl2: How the HECK did she know? So, yeah, I picked her up some flip flops. Sucker. I did run out of battery before she could make any more requests.

As promised here's some pictures. Of my actual child, not my dog. :rotfl:

Do you notice that Cait has the Katie Holmes knee dip thing down? I'm not sure why she felt that she had to be the same height as Stitch. I'm sure Stitch is not as insecure about his height as Tom Cruise appears to be.

Here's a picture of Cait and I from last February at WDW.

Sadly, I can't find the picture I had of Alex but I'll post one of him later.

Plans for Thursday, 3/28:

This is an MK day. I have lunch planned at the Liberty Tree Tavern. And not much else really planned for that particular day. ;) I'm sure we'll come up with something.

I'm trying to slide in a Chef Mickey's dinner somewhere. I tried to get a breakfast in but it wasn't available on any of the days we could fit it in. I did manage to get us into Ohana for breakfast on Monday so :thumbsup2 on that one!

Thanks for reading along, everyone!

AMY! She looks just like you! She's a cutie...off to my chair now, can't wait to hear more later.

I'm in! You're cracking me up - and as the mom of DD18 and DD16, I have had a lot of the same conversations you have shared! :rotfl:

Aww, thanks, MM. She has a love/hate thing about looking like me, though. :rotfl: She wore her hair curly for a homecoming dance and my sister and my niece both freaked out about how much she looked like me when I was that age. Cait just kind of rolled her eyes at them but she agrees it could be worse.

Hope you're feeling better soon, pal!

Welcome, tiggerbell! I'm glad some people are reading this--I love to write it so I don't bore all the non-Disney people around me. (I thought my mom was going to bop me last night when I wouldn't shut up about it! :rotfl: )

And if you have an 18 yo and a 16 yo dd, you TOTALLY understand about those conversations! :rotfl2: I'm just glad she's still talking to me, though.

:rotfl: You are not going to believe it, but I was thinking the exact thing when I scrolled to the pic. :rotfl: "Oh, look, it's the TomKat knee bend!" :rotfl:

Cait actually resembles Katie however I must say that Stitch is far better looking than Tom. :rotfl: You daughter is beautiful and some day she will be appreciative of looking like her mom;)

:rotfl2: I've never seen her do that in a picture before so it kind of cracked me up when I was going back through last year's photos.

TeddyToo, you are so very kind. Thank you for the compliments. And I totally agree with you in the Stitch versus Tom smackdown. :rotfl2:

: Hi there, I am sure enjoying your pretrip report. We are going in Mid June. Although its probably my 14th trip there, I am more excited then the kids...

Isnt it hard trying to figure out a place for the dog? UGH... I couldnt truley start planning my trip until I figured out places for my 2 doggies. My dogs have never been kenneled so thats NEVER an option;) . I use to have a good friend who took them to her house. But as life has it, she got divorced, moved out and now lives out of state.:sad2:

I have a nice friend who is going to take my two dogs to her house for our trip.We also have a golden retriever mix, very similiar to your dog. We got her as the SPCA as well. Shes the best dog Ive ever had. We also have a yellow lab mix... she is very high strung...to say the least..

I like how you have your list ready, of the stuff you want to do. I have tried that, but with 3 kids(12, 7, and 2)well it never actually works out. So a lot of time we just play it by ear.

Hello and welcome aboard, sunlvr! I'm glad you're reading along. :)

I am ALWAYS more excited than anyone. This weekend, Caitlin finally began showing more interest and told ME how many days we had until takeoff. Even though I've told her several times now, she asked for info about her flight and it finally dawned on her that they wouldn't be arriving until 10:00 p.m. that first day. Duh. I have not mentioned at all that Alex and I plan on sneaking over to Epcot while we're waiting for them to arrive. :rotfl:

You know, when I lived in New Mexico, I never had a problem leaving the dogs in a kennel. We knew a vet who had a great place--it was like a living area with a tv and beds and my two dogs could stay together and they had some teenage girls who would come and play with the dogs each day. They had a blast. But I haven't been able to find a place like that in our area and, well, Sunny just loves to be around people. I think if she were alone in a cage all day, she'd be pitiful and I'd feel really badly about leaving her. I'm really happy we found our housesitter. This will be the first time both Alex and I are gone at the same time since we've gotten her and it's made it much easier. If it all works out well, we'll offer him another job this summer when we go to England.

I'm glad you're enjoying the list. I have no clue as to whether I'll actually accomplish any of those things but I'm going to give it a shot! It's usually the Caitlin Show when we go--anything she wants, we do, so I'm kind of looking forward to trying some new things this time around.

Thanks again for reading and I hope you have a great trip in June!

I just love your report. Thanks for sharing your funny stories and anecdotes with us. Can't wait to read your trip report when you return.

Hi NMAmy! :yay:

I followed your link from when you posted on my trip report! I'm enjoying your pre-trippie! I'm very jealous that you're going so soon!!!

I chuckled about your comment about Cait doing the Katie Holmes stoop. Does that make Tom Cruise Stitch? Heee! Sounds about right!! :lmao:

Can't wait to keep reading!!

I'm glad you're enjoying it, smola09's mom! Thanks so much for reading.

Well, 7 more days! One week from today at this time, I'll be fixing to get on the plane. :cheer2:

And, boy, do I need a vacation. I haven't posted much this week because I have been very crabby and I didn't want to subject you all to it. I'll vent just a tiny bit to all of you, if you don't mind.

Everyone at work has come back from spring break and apparently, they're depressed that THEIR vacation is over. I won't go into the whole thing but I've been very annoyed with some folks that are giving me a hard time about taking MY vacation. Whatever.

And, Cait has been nagging me all week. Her cell phone broke. The child goes through cell phones like you would not believe. Of course, I ALWAYS purchase the replacement warranty on her phone--I learned my lesson.

Here's what she's so irate about. This is ALL my fault, you know. When her phone has broken in Michigan, we go to the local branch of our cell phone company and they tell her to pick out a new phone (with a choice of several different ones), program it immediately, and we're on our merry way. However, apparently at the New Mexico branch, they have to mail her a phone that is identical to the one she has which takes several days because, of course, they don't have it in stock. So, she's upset that she has to go with the same version. Also, they did not mail her a new charger which was part of the problem with her old phone. It wouldn't hold a charge and they didn't know if it was the phone or the charger.

So, she calls me last night.

Cait: (Voice rising to dangerously high-pitched levels. Dogs were hiding, I'm sure.) They didn't send a charger!
Me: (Thinking...what the heck does she expect ME to do about this?) Go to the office and tell them.
Cait: They'll make me pay for it.
Me: GO TO THE OFFICE. If they try to make you pay for it, have them call me. The warranty pays for both the cell phone and the charger if it's broken. If they insist, I'll have them charge it to my credit card and I'll take it up with the office here.
Cait: They'll never do it! The sky is falling, the world is ending as we know it. I'll never be able to use a cell phone again.

Ok, I made up that last bit. You know, the conversation just doesn't have the intensity when I type it out that it had in real life. Those of you who live with or have seen a freaked out teenage girl know what I'm talking about. She didn't call back last night so, who knows what happened. I'm sure if they were uncooperative, I'd have heard.

Oh, and what is it about sick people congregating at my desk? Yesterday, I had not just one but TWO of them here. And one gave me a hug! :scared1: THEN told me she was going home because she was ill. The other one told me, "My husband says he can't understand why I keep going to work when I'm so sick." Well, neither do I, lady.

DON'T THESE PEOPLE KNOW I NEED TO GO TO WDW NEXT WEEK????

Ok, vent over. I'm sorry you all had to see that but I needed to get it out. ;)

Last weekend before our trip and lots to do!

To Do List:
Get my hair cut and colored. When Caitlin was an adorable little girl, she used to stroke my hair lovingly and say, "Mommy, your hair has the prettiest sparkles in it." :rotfl2: I didn't have the heart to tell her the sparkles were gray hairs. Now, as a teenager, she'll tell me with a smirk, "Umm...Mom? Your hair is sparkly." As in, you might want to think about doing something with it.

Clean, clean, clean the house. We had one really nice day last week and it really made me notice how dusty everything is. And we have someone staying in our house. So, I'll be clean, clean, cleaning.

Packing and laundry. I have a pile of items bought specifically for the trip in the hallway but I need to get out my fancy red suitcase and figure out what other stuff I'm going to need. The weather looks like it will be nice so keep your fingers crossed!

Thanks so much for listening to my rant!;)

Aww...thanks so much for coming by, AussieAngel! I'm glad you're enjoying it. I can't wait to get going.

I know, I laugh every time I flip through our scrapbook and see Caitlin doing that stoop. It's the only time she did it and I have no clue why. The friend she brought along only comes to about her shoulder but she didn't do it in any of the pictures with her! She's taller than me now, maybe she'll do it this time around, too. :rotfl2:

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, HAD THAT CONVERSATION!!! Thought about reading this to Meggie and figured she's want me to tell you that none of that was YOUR fault, somehow it was MINE!!! :rotfl2:

Do you know it was MY fault last night that she slammed her finger in the fridge :confused3 because I wanted spaghetti for dinner and she didn't?

I can also control the weather, other drivers, NASA, and her friends. I'm really quite amazing!
So no one laughed harder when she forgot her I-Pod on our last trip. Karma, baby!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Hey, I think I'm with Meggie on this one. :thumbsup2 If I can get a new scapegoat, I'm all for it. HEY, I've got a great idea! Tell you what, tiggerbell, I'll be the scapegoat at your house and you can be the scapegoat at mine. Deal? Just blame everything on me from now on, my friend. :rotfl:

Psst...just so you know, I DO control the weather. As a sideline kind of thing. Mwa ha ha ha.;)

 to you, pal, and no, I'm not sick. In body. In mind, well, let's not go there. As I'm sure you could tell from my "WHAP" thread that I am having the same kind of week. Helped out LOTS by the "nanner nanner boo boo" calls from my mom: "Hi, honey, it's 85 degrees here, we're sitting at Epcot in France having some champagne." ;)

You conversation with Cait cracked me up though. :rotfl:
