Hello,

As part of the mom/daughters trip they wish to go to Universal and IA. I get motion sick very easily: I can ride Dumbo once and even then I feel a little queasy. Rides likeStar Tours makes me really sick. I am also a wimp as far as roller coasters. Big Thunder Railroad is about as wild as I can do. I hate drops and the one at Splash Mountain or the Mine Train at Six Flags are about the extent I can enjoy. So I have the Unltimate Guide by Monaghan and I'm looking at the rides and I can't tell. How 3D is 3 D...is it like Soarin or Philharmagic that I loved or is it Body Tours type??? Here is a list and what I am thinking. Please help:

Universal
Terminator??
ET- Yes
The Simpsons- no?
Men in Black- yes
Jaws - yes
Disaster-yes
Revenge of the Mummy- no?
Twister yes
Hollywodd Rip Ride Rocket- no
Jimmy Neutron- no?
Shrek 4-D???

Island of Adventure
Cat in the Hat- yes
One Fish- yes?
High in the Sky Seuss Trolley- yes
Poseidon's Fury???
Dragon Challenge- no
Flight of the Hippogriff- yes?
Jurassic Park River Adventure- yes
Dudley Do- Rights Ripshaw Falls- ???
Popey Bilge Rat Barges- yes
Amazing Adventures of spider Man- no?
Doctor Doom's Fearfall- no
Incredible Hulk coaster- no

So let me know. And what should I do while they ride?

Christine
You're pretty accurate on the attactions you should skip. You can do Jimmy Neutron if you use the stationary seating and definately skip The Simpsons.

Flight of the Hippogriff won't be open until Harry Potter opens.

If you're waiting while they ride, I usually people watch and take in the atmosphere.

Terminator and Shrek should be OK; in Shrek the seats bounce and rock at times, but there are some stationary seats if you want to avoid that type of motion; Terminator has actual actors mixed in with the film and 3-D effects; Revenge of Mummy is an indoor coaster, some drops, but not very big - the only thing that might bother you is that it is dark and can not see where you are going; Jurassic Park and Dudley Do Right both have drops that are bit bigger than Splash, so if Splash is your limit you may want to give these a second thought; Poseidon's Fury should not be a problem.

Here is my estimation.

Universal
Terminator?? : Yes. Seats only seemed to move once at the end. Mostly just a 3/4 D show with stage effects.
ET- Yes
The Simpsons- no? : No. If Star Tours is bad, this will be much worse.
Men in Black- yes : Yes but recommend front middle seat. Car does do 360's at least 3 times during the ride and the last one is pretty intense. Front middle seat has much much less spin feel but it is still there.
Jaws - yes
Disaster-yes
Revenge of the Mummy- no? : Not very likely but that is our family's favorite ride. It isn't any bigger (or even faster?) than Big Thunder Mtn but much more intense especially if you get anxious from strong acceleration, darkness and a little air time (happens 3 times). If you are a fan of The Mummy movies then you might want to give this a shot at the end of a day.
Twister yes : Yes
Hollywodd Rip Ride Rocket- no : Not a chance.
Jimmy Neutron- no? : Might be okay on the non-moving seats. The screen is rather small given the size of the seating area.
Shrek 4-D??? : Maybe. I don't remember the seats moving all over the place like the Simpson's. Mostly just up and down jolting to simulate riding in a carriage and a few other moves. If you like 3D like Philharmagic then this shouldn't be that bad.

Island of Adventure
Cat in the Hat- yes
One Fish- yes?
High in the Sky Seuss Trolley- yes
Poseidon's Fury??? : Yes. It is just a walkthrough show like Twister.
Dragon Challenge- no
Flight of the Hippogriff- yes?
Jurassic Park River Adventure- yes
Dudley Do- Rights Ripshaw Falls- ??? : Yes if you don't mind getting pretty wet. One big hill that I think is smaller than Splash! by a little and a few smaller drops but much wetter.
Popey Bilge Rat Barges- yes
Amazing Adventures of spider Man- no? : Tough call but probably not. There is some signficant spinning in sections to simulate going down the sewer drain and harsh jolting and turns.
Doctor Doom's Fearfall- no
Incredible Hulk coaster- no

You might want to try some of the iffy rides at the end of the day if you build up a tolerance for them during the day. Coasters tend to lose much of their thrill by the end of the day for me. On the other hand if each ride only makes the next one worse then you are probably best of skipping them because a bad ride at the start of the day could ruin the rest of it.
