Got lucky enough to get 3 out of 4 nights booked at BCV/OKW (on waitlist for last) for early Nov (11/1-5).

Is this week crazier than summer? Never gone in early Nov and trying to get my mind straight in case the crowds are nuts.

Any feedback will be helpful.

We travel during teachers convention often. Not usually WDW, but it seems wherever we go there are many people from NJ there. It never seems to be overly crowded though. I can't imagine a few more people travelling from one state would make much of a difference, especially WDW.

Jersey Week crowds are rated at all 2s by The Unofficial Guide to WDW (2005 edition - well worth buying if only for the entertaining read), while summertime crowds are 7s and 8s in June, 8s and 9s in July. You should not have any trouble with the crowds (or lack thereof), unless you don't like folks from New Jersey or something.;)

Nooooo.....while it's more crowded than January/February (non holiday) it is not nearly as crowded as June/July and holiday weeks. We really enjoy WDW in November, the weather is typically very nice and there is so much going on with Food & Wine Fest. You won't just walk onto the rides, but lines should be a manageable 20 minutes with the exception of the usual suspects (Dumbo, Peter Pan, ToT...). But with fastpass you'll be fine!!!!

I would guess that this year it will be a bit more crowded than past years because it corresponds very well with Halloween and Food & Wine. Add to that folks who had to change their plans due to the hurricanes and you might see a heavier than usual crowd level. But I wouldn't worry about it...just plan appropriately and you'll have a great time!

We also found that there are lots of folks from England there. It was so funny...people were either from NJ or the UK!!

Enjoy!

VWL Five you'll be there the same week as I will. I've been on a waitlist since approx Sept 10 for a 2 bedroom at OKW (we presently have a 1 bedroom). May I ask what size unit you are waitlisted for and when you first requested the waitlist ? I'm just curious because I'm trying to figure out if mine will ever come through. We leave in less than 3 weeks. I may have read you wrong, but I think you're saying your waitlist has not come through for OKW ? I'm waitlisted for Nov 2-5.
As for the crowds. We typically vacation this week and it's always been lighter as far as crowds than when we go during July/August. As someone else pointed out....I don't think it'll be walk-on, but the lines should be managable. I.E., last year we vacationed in early August and there were 90 min waits for Space Mtn, Test Track, Splash Mtn to name a few. I don't think we'll see too much of that in early Nov. At least let's hope not !

It's not bad. No way near summer crowds.

You might be from New Jersey if...
· you've been seriously injured at Action Park.
· you know that the only people who call it "Joisey" are from New York (usually The Bronx) or Texas.
· you don't think of citrus when people mention "The Oranges."
· you know that it's called "Great Adventure," not "Six Flags."
· you've ordered a hard roll with butter for breakfast.
· you've known the way to Seaside Heights since you were seven.
· you've eaten at a diner, when you were stoned or drunk, at 3 am.
· whenever you park, there's a Camaro within three spots of you.
· you remember that the "Two Guys" were from Harrison.
· you know that the state isn't one big oil refinery.
· at least three people in your family still love Bruce Springsteen, and you know what town Jon Bon Jovi is from.
· you know what a "jug handle" is.
· you know that a WaWa is a convenience store.
· you know that the state isn't all farmland.
· you know that it isnt "The Beach" in New Jersey - it's the shore, and you know that the road to the shore is "The Parkway" not "The Garden State Highway."
· you know that "Piney" isn't referring to a tree.
· even your school cafeteria made good Italian subs, and, you call it a "sub" not a "submarine sandwich" or worse yet, a "hoagie" or a "hero."
· you remember the song from the Palisades Park commercials.
· you know how to properly negotiate a Circle.
· you knew that the last question had to do with driving.
· you know that "Acme" is an actual store, not just a Warner Bros. creation.
· you know that this is the only "New..." state that doesn't require "New" to identify it (like, try ...Mexico, ...York, ...Hampshire (doesn't work, does it?).
· you only go to New York City for day trips, and you only call it "The City."
· you consider a corned beef sandwich with lettuce and mayo a sacrilege.
· in the 80's you wore your hair REALLY high. (wait, didn't everybody??)
· you don't think "What exit" (do you live near?) is very funny.
· you know that the real first "strip shopping center" in the country is Route 22.
· you know that people from 609 area code are "a little different."
· you know that no respectable New Jerseyan goes to Princeton - that's for out-of-staters.
· the Jets-Giants game has started fights at your school or local bar.
· you live within 20 minutes of at least three different malls.
· you can see the Manhattan skyline from some part of your town.
· you refer to all highways and interstates by their numbers.
· every year, you had at least one kid in your class named Tony.
· you know where every "clip" shown in the Sopranos opening credits is.
· you've gotten on the wrong highway trying to get out of Willowbrook Mall.
· you've eaten a Boardwalk cheesesteak with vinegar fries.
· you have a favorite Atlantic City casino.
· you start planning for Memorial Day weekend in February.
· you've never pumped your own gas.
· you know how to navigate a circle while talking on a cell phone and smoking a Marlboro w/o using blinkers.
· every 3 miles you drive there is a deserted mall.
· most really nice homes have a gas station and a junk yard next door to them.
· you never tell the truth about what state you're from when strangers ask you in a chatroom.
· most of your cash is in dimes and quarters.
· even after moving to California, you still carry a separate change purse full of quarters and dimes for tolls.
· you learned to drive by backing out of your driveway onto a 50 MPH road.
· you have the shop install lumps and dents into your fenders so others will know that you have the strength in convinction to change lanes.
· you take kick-boxing lessons hoping someone will tell you the two weeks in New Jersey prize joke.
· you know where highway 9 is from that Bruce Springsteen song.

MiaSRN62 - the waitlist I have is for a studio for 11/4 at BC or OKW but we'll take anything at this point.

Looking forward to a few days away. Thanks for the help.

Jersey week is the second most crowded and the crowd is all from Jersey so they are mean, nasty, obnoxious etc.

....Wadda ya mean people with 609 area code are "a little different" ??????

Nevermind.... mine was changed to 856.

Favorite though is Circles. NOTE FOR ALL OUT-OF-STATERS: You do not stop a a circle. Repeat....DO NOT STOP !!! Close your eyes, say a prayer and stand on the gas....everything will be fine.

you remember that the "Two Guys" were from Harrison

Two Guys! I haven't thought about that store in ages. Where I grew up in NJ, Two Guys was next door to Korvettes!

We were there last year Nov.4-9. It was Super Soap Weekend, Food and Wine and Jersey week. I worried and worried -- all for nothing. The weather was perfect, the crowds were low and it was one of our best trips.

Enjoy!

The only one you forgot was stay to right while drivng or get off the road!;)

We were there duing this time period last year and the MK was a zoo everytime we went. MGM was as well. I waited more than 2 hours for ToT. They were out of fast passes for the day at 10:30 am. I won't go during "New Jersey week" again.

Wow  ...we found it to be manageable last year during "jersey week"?! Maybe it depends on which day you hit MK? I'd imagine the weekend would definitely be super crowded...we didn't go to MK at all during the weekends that we were there. Weird? I guess it just depends how you hit the crowds?! I sure hope we're not in for a crazy time this year!!!:(

We went during NJ week in 2002 and it was great. We only had a problem with crowds on Election day. It was a great trip - one of the best that we've had and the crowds were very managable.

POOH&PIGLET WOW! you really made me laugh. funny you mentioned jon bongiovi.(real spelling) went to high school with him. where did you get that anyway. are you from jersey. it looks like you're now in NYC.

Long time reader, first time poster here from Northern NJ. (I've always wanted to say that!)

Anyway, the Fall is absolutely my favorite time to visit WDW. Loe humidity, clear skies and chilly nights! It's the best! We did visit once during the infamous NJEA week. While most of the week was wonderful, Thurs - Sat was much more crowded. On the up side (or down side depending how you view the matter) we bumped into 11 separate families that we knew from home...In fact, at Chef Mickey's the waitress said "what exit?" as soon as we asked for a cup of cooffffeeee. Enjoy!

My sister lives in NJ. I did a google search for "New Jersey What Exit" and stumbled across the list. :teeth:
