Day 4, Part 3 ANIMAL KINGDOM AND FANTASMIC
When you are given your Fantasmic pass at dinner, they tell you to go to Oscars gas station at the front of the park there are two large green gates there and the CM will check your pass and let you through. It is probably another 5 minute or so walk I think dinner at one of the three establishments in MGM is the way to go there were people lining up for general admission for Fantasmic two hours before the show! Instead of standing in line, we were able to go on three more rides! Time management people time management! Use FPs and perks when you can it will help to make the most of your trip!
Our seats were on the right side of the stage and although the seating is not smack dab in the middle of the stage, I feel we had a very good view of the entire show. They have floats and such going around the stage so we had a very good view and a close view of the characters as they did their parts. We were also able to see some of the fireworks from EPCOT from this location.
The show itself was much better than I anticipated. It is a little scary for the little kids one family in front of us had a three year old who went from her moms lap to her dads lap and back again during the show. There was a family behind us from the UK who had two boys who were probably 7 and 9 and seemed to do just fine. My DD2 who is 10 sat on the seats in front of her sister and me and never flinched once.
At the end of the show when Mickey as Steamboat Willie comes out driving the boat with all the characters it was just great! This is a show I would definitely go back to again as long as I didnt have to stand in line for two hours!!
When they let us out we followed what I thought was the same path back by Oscars garage Im thinking that will put us very close to the front of the park and the busses W R O N G!!! Somehow, they let us out another gate and we exited near the Beauty and the Beast theater. I guess Disney wants all the audience to walk past the still open gift shops one more time!
As we exited MGM we saw the ferry location backed up with resort guests heading back to the EPCOT resorts. There were ferries waiting for them, but I think more guests than ferries. As we got to our bus stop, there was a bus waiting (first time from MGM to AKL). About 15 people got on the bus and the driver didnt wait she just pulled out and took us back to the AKL. I just dont understand Disneys transportation! Here a ton of people are walking out of the park you would think she would wait until the bus got close to full -- but no -- she left with only 15 of us on the bus!
However, we were happy because we were back in our room at the AKL by 10:15 p.m.
After tonight, we are half-way through our vacation tomorrow we move to the YC!
