Hey All. I need to come up with a place to get pizza and beer close to the Turnpike in the Hudson/Bergen Area. Going to Cirque tonight in NY, but meeting friends coming form Central Jersey at a to be determined location to meet and drive in together. . So who know a decent pie place close to the Turnpike.

If you want to meet and eat somewhere close to the north end of the NJ Turnpike, Secaucus has a couple of shopping/eating/entertainment type areas. Here is a link to the Mall at Mill Creek:

From that page, check the one for the Plaza at Harmon. Both properties have a load of chain restaurants, and are as close to the Turnpike as you can get.

The best beer and pizza places I can think of around here are not anywhere near as convenient to the Turnpike as the malls in Secaucus. Those would be Brooklyn Pizza and the Lido in Hackensack or Nellie's in Waldwick.

After these places, my favorite NJ places for pizza and beer are down the shore.

My concern is Seacucus can be nuts on Saturday night. I love Brooklyn pizza, but would be a little detour. But we could leave the extra cars at Target. Lido's is SLLLOOOWWWWW at best on a Sat. night. From Brooklyn though we could jump on 4 to get to the GWB to get to Randalls Island.

If you need the GWB, then I would forget Hoboken. lol.

Sounds like a plan. :)

Brooklyn wouldn't be inconvenient at all, actually. If you took exit 18E off the Turnpike, then followed the signs for 80 West, you'd exit right after you went over the Hackensack River bridge. I think the exit number is 66--funny, I take that exit a couple of times a week, and I'm now scratching my head trying to remember what the sign says.

Anyway, off that exit, you'd go straight down to River Street, turn left and then drive until you come to Brooklyn Pizza on the left. Can't be more than 2 or 3 miles.

Are you seeing the new Cirque show?

Yes, seeing the new Cirque show. Ovo opened last night. We've opted to meet at a Turnpike rest area, and head straight to the Island and eat there. Cirques food service is pretty good.

...look for a place in Fort Lee....

I was going to suggest that, but that's where we order pizza from at work and I am not much of a fan of any of those places. I do like Cassie's in Englewood though.

Looks like the OP is doing what I would, just eat at Randal's.
