Niue longhouse at Polynesian - any reviews?

Fiji, marina view is my request, but I'm concerned that it is now becoming a popular longhouse for requests, and I may not get it. That, and we arrive on a Wednesday in late October which probably isn't the best time to get a room request granted!

Niue - I never hear about it. I know it's only two floors with no balcony, but I don't need one. How are the views? Convenience?

Great location near the GCH, both pools, and transportation. No elevator - connects from Rarotonga's second floor if an elevator is needed.

I did not realize it was popular, thanks! Maybe there is no point to change from Fiji to Niue if both may be harder to get. I know Fiji is further from things, but I think the views are good.

You really can't go wrong at the Poly. We stayed in a standard in Rarotonga and loved the proximity to GCH and bus stop. The views aren't as good as others but the convenience was fantastic.

That's good to know because every time I read that someone's longhouse request was not granted, they end up in Rarotonga!

We stayed in Niue two years ago and loved it! It is close to the GCH and both pools. It is small and very quiet. There isn't a bad view from any room. We would request to stay there again if we weren't staying club level in July.

I feel like Niue doesn't get the love it deserves with Samoa and Fiji being more popular, but that's okay, it hopefully means it will available for us when we request it.

I have to agree with this. We've stayed Fiji, marina side, third floor, Fiji, luau cove side, first floor and Rarotonga, quiet pool side, third floor and loved them all for different reasons. You really can't go wrong with any of the longhouses, IMHO.

Talking over with my guy, we think maybe we would be more appreciative of being closer to the GCH and transportation than a view of the marina (although that would be awesome). Especially in the morning getting coffee and at night coming home!
That, and the fact we probably wouldn't get that request due to popularity anyways, we decided to have our Touring Plans request be for Niue, second floor, west facing. And then in the comments I put that if it's not available, Fiji east facing (marina side) would be fine.

I actually requested Niue for a couple of reasons. I'm old, and although I plan on conditioning before my October trip, the location is just a jump from the great house. Love Captain Jacks right there, and the action...Taking my granddaughter with us. Right outside this longhouse is where they did movies and activities. I do expect some noise and traffic, but it is my Ideal. I just have to figure out how to increase my chances of getting the Nuie!

If you are calling it in, tell them you would like to request Niue. Whichever way you make the request, DO NOT make a request during online check-in as that will override any other request.

Wow, this is a blast from the past!

Well, we did this trip in 2017 and ended up with Fiji - marina view, third floor and the view was AWESOME!!!! Super close to GCH too.

Maybe we’ll be neighbors mid-October. I’ll stay on either side quiet pool or the entertainment side. You can walk right through from the great house on the second level or you can take the elevator down at the GCH if you are booked on the ground floor! Good choice, up or down or either side!
