A nightlight, wouldn't help, since there are no plugs in the bathroom, except for an electric shaver. We just left the light on and closed the door. There is a crack under the bottom of the door, so it really works well as a nightlight. Yes, you can bring disposable razors of any kind, these don't have to be checked, you can place them in your carry-on if you desire. The carry-on must be the same size an an airplane carry-on, since it must fit through an x-ray machine. As to wearing shorts, I guess it depends on what the weather is where you're coming from. I HATE being cold on a plane, maybe pack them in your carry-on and change at the airport or at the pier, if you don't want to wear them on the plane.

In the bathroom, we unplugged the hair dryer and plugged in a night light. We always travel with night lights, we like the flat new ones that are easy to pack. They fit in my make-up kit.

When you open the closet sliding door, the closet light automatically comes on. We just opened the closet door slightly and it gave you enough light to get around and get to the bathroom without keeping everyone up.

I didn't think you could take disposable razors in your carryon, because I thought they used razor blades for 9/11. I assume the disposables are smaler and hard to get out of the razor? We always put ours in our checked bags and didn't have any problems.

We wore shorts to the ship. The only place you arn't supposed to wear shorts is at the sit down restaurants.

In my passporter's book, it says September Carribean average highs are 88 and lows are 74. I think Florida is usually pretty warm in September.

Be forewarned though that if the ship is rocking just a bit, the doors will slide a bit. I think once they're closed they don't move, however.

We were rocking a little the first night and didn't have a problem with the door sliding. But our room had lots of little lights and such in different spots around the cabin. I remember my husband turning one of those on one night and it was over near a corner and not intrusive to sleep if that helps.

The doors were really rocking on the March 29, Magic Mystery Cruise. The doors also moved on our three other cruises. Glad they got rid of the metal hangars that chimed all night.

WE were on the 3 day wonder, but in addition to this thread, I have heard the Western rocks more than the bahama cruises. Is it alot more than the others? We are on the Western in November. We had really high winds but only rocked for the first day or so. I heard the 7 night cruises have to go faster to get further, so they rock alot more. Anyone been on both and can give me a comparison?

I have a battery recharger for my camera. Are there any plugs in the main cabin where I can plug this in? I'll be in deep trouble if not.

There are outlets at the desk. If your plug is large you may need to bring an extension cord. The outlets are almost level with the desk so there is not a lot of space for a large plug.

We've done the Eastern, and Western, and found the Western to be much calmer. A Navigator aboard ship told me the western waters tend to be somewhat protected by the eastern chain of islands, while the Eastern cruise feels more effects from the Atlantic Ocean.
Either way, have a great cruise!

I've read many concerns about outlets. I personally plan to pack a power strip.

plutospup, Our roughest one was the Western. The Eastern was a little rough for two days, but not nearly as bad as the Western. We missed Grand Cayman because water was too rough to tender. We missed Key West on Sunday, too rough to enter the channel. We went to Key West on Thursday. Since we could not go to Grand Cayman we went to Costa Maya the day after Cozumel. First time for Disney ship to go to Costa Maya, we loved it.

So did the create shore excursions for you to do at Costa Maya or just on your own? That would have been neat. I am hoping your rockiness was out of the ordinary, sounds like you were in themidst of a hurricane! What month was this?

It was the March 29, 2003 cruise. The problem was a cold front that moved into the Gulf of Mexico. Yes, they did a wonderful job of putting together shore excrsions. We had new Navigators the evening before Costa Maya. Right at the dock was shopping, live entertainment, restaurant, bar, beaches and pools. I liked Costa Maya much more than Cozumel.

I understand that Costa Maya is a new community built for tourism. From the positive response following your mystery cruise DCL looked into making Costa Maya a future port of call.

Too cute! I packed a 6 or 9 foot extension cord that I plugged in at the desk. It had 3 outlets available and I used them for my rechargeable battery pack, my own hair-dryer and curling iron. Super easy and unless you have a gazillion appliances, an extension cord should be enough
