Dh and I are in the research phase of purchasing a new minivan. We have always been a Ford family, but after having inspected and driven the Freestar, we eliminated it from the list, I really didn't like it.

I have looked at a Chevy Uplander, but it is out, reliability issues and visibility is poor. So at the moment, the Toyota Sienna is way out in front. I also like the Honda Odessey but I can get a much better price on a Sienna from Carmax (we can get new ones at the Carmax here).

Chryslers are out because of their well-known tranny issues. So that leaves the Quest.

Have one? Driven one? Like it? Take a sledge hammer to it? What do you think?

TIA!

Hmm I had a 1993 Quest and it was my bestest vehicle EVER!! Ford engine back then! I drove it to 210,000, DH beat on it for a while after that and gave it away in 2002, and it is still out there now with over 240,000 and they love it too! I did do the tranny on that van once! Not sure if I would buy it again because it just isn't make the same now.

Now I had a Dodge Grand Cavanvan 2001, and got rid of that this year with 199,000 on it!!!! Yes I did that in 5 years! That I never had any major trouble with, I just got rid of it because I wanted newer and wanted less gas. But the van served me well for a Dodge!

I have a 2005 Nissan Quest and absolutely love it. It's the Sl model, but it came with the extras. Leather, heated seats, xm radio, 6 disc cd changer, skyview roof. I have only driven a Mazda MPV, but I like this one much, much better

Thanks for the info.

Any more opinions?

I have a 2000 Quest, and love it. It has about 90,000 miles on it, and is just getting broken in. We plan on having it for quite a few years..

Before that I had a 1993 Dodge Caravan. Okay for the first couple of years, but after that, it seemed like one thing after another.

Another 2005 here, though it's the plain vanilla one (not too many bells and whistles, although it does have a/c, c/d and all of that jazz)

I LOVE this car! I love the storage capacity. I love that 6 BIG adults can fit and actually be comfortable. I think it's just the perfect family car :)
