Nissan Pavilion help needed

Okay, I need some input. My DH boss got us tickets to the Aerosmith show on Sunday at Nissan Pavilion. Originally he had said it would be four tickets so we invited some friends to go. Today we find out he only ended up being able to get two tickets. (we're not paying for them so can't complain.) Anyway, I won't know until tomorrow where the seats are but I would guess probably lawn seats or tier 3 at best.

I'm going to go ahead and order to more lawn tickets today for our friends, (not telling them about this) and even if the other seats are somewhere else I figure we can all just sit together in the lawn seats or take turns or something. I've seen Aerosmith twice so its not a huge deal to be real close to the stage. I've sat really close in box seats and in the nose blead seats so its not a real big deal. Does this sound like the best way to go? I figure even if the seats are somewhere else the chances of getting two more nearby are slim right?

And anything anyone can share about Nissan Pavilion would be great. I've never seen a show there and only been to one other outdoor at Merriwether Post Pavilion.

Thanks!

1. I'd buy the lawn seats too and plan to sit with your friends regardless of where your seats are.

2. Go early. Traffic is really, really bad in and around Gainesville before any show at Nissan. It's a great setting for a show, though. Have fun!

Sounds like a plan. I checked Aerosmith seats a few weeks ago and they still had level 3 seats available. Toyed with the idea of getting them. I'm jealous!!

Nissan's not a bad place. I was there back in May for Gwen Stefani. They have a nice area right out side the arena area where you can sit at tables and have drinks. There are screens set up out there so you don't miss the show if you want to eat and drink.

Parking is not my favorite there. It's tough getting in and out but it has improved over a few years ago (I once sat in the lot for 90 minutes and couldn't get out). Last trip I got out in about 15 minutes. Parking is free but you can "upgrade" to VIP parking for $20 I think which may be worth it. Also, sometimes, they give you special parking if you are driving a Nissan.

I've been to Nissan several times, even saw Aerosmith there once! Couldn't you just tell your friends that you're really sorry, but the extra tickets fell through? It's not your fault, and what you're planning, while very nice of you, is not necessary, IMO.

Bailing on my friends is not an option. I think it would be terribly rude. If it came down to that I would give them the tickets. We invited them over a month ago and have been counting down together and talking about it for weeks. I work with one of them and I just would never do that. The lawn seats are only about $30 and I don't mind spending the money. We had planned on buying tickets at first anyway until DH found out his boss could get us some.

How are the lawn seats?

We do have a Nissan Armada and will probably all ride in that so maybe it will help with parking! That would be cool. We are actually getting the tickets through a Nissan Rep too.

How are the lawn seats?

They are faaarrrrrrr up. I would never want to do it, but my DD has done it and she likes it because it was "fun."

I am more interested in seeing an artist up close and having a chair, so I know the lawn is not for me!:) But, it's probably okay with a group.

I must say--you are a very generous friend. If someone offered me free tickets through their job and it fell through, I would certainly have no hard feelings toward the friend. That stuff happens. However, if you had purchased the tickets and then backed out--different story. But, hey, nothing wrong with being nice!

As for the parking, you should call Nissan Pavilion directly about this. When I saw Gwen Stefani, I purchased my tickets through Live Nation. A few days prior to the event, Live Nation sent me the bulletin about the parking for Nissan drivers with my confirmation/reminder of the show. Since you did not purchase your tickets, you won't get the notice. The e-mail gave directions on which entrance to go into for the special Nissan parking. Just call the box office and ask them if they will be having a special parking area for Nissan drivers. I don't think they do it at every show.

If you only care about hearing the music, lawn seats are great - but you won't really see a whole lot.

My aunt and uncle live 3 miles from Nissan.....I've had to go to their house twice recently on Friday nights....that was not fun getting there! :lmao:

Have fun, Nissan is a really fun venue.

I saw Pearl Jam years ago at merriwether post pavilion and we had lawn seats. Pearl Jam didn't have any tv screens at all so you couldn't see anythign at all. We ended up sneaking into the top of the reserved seating. I just had to see Eddie. But Aerosmith I've seen a couple of times and even though they do put on a great "show" I want to enjoy it with our friends. I really hope that they will be able to see some. I think its been years since they've been to a concert so they are really really excited.

I just checked online and they do have some Tier 2 seating available.

Also, you can buy a 4-pack of lawn seats for $75 which works out to about $19.00 a ticket (less surcharges of course:rolleyes: ).

if yo ucan not get more tickets then offer to let them come listen to my grandmother sing along to the player piano. they are about the same age...

Hehehehheeee

One thing you could do that might make 2 people really happy.....

If you buy 2 lawn seats for your friends and then find out your tickets that your DH was able to get are much better in the pavilion.....since you have decided to stay on the lawn with your friends.....you could offer to swap tickets with 2 lawn people and let them have your pavilion seats.....you'd really make someone's day!

We will be there too!!!! Level 2.

EDITED: our ticket guy just got us Level 1 at the same price. YEAH!!!!!

So my DH just got the tickets from his boss. They are section 102 row f. Guess we are going to have to work out some kind of rotation. I'm not giving away those seats. I couldn't believe it. He also got us some kind of parking pass and Z pass or something, not sure what that is. Maybe we'll just take turns or something. I don't know.
