Nintendo DSi question

Anyone have one of these? Or have a child with one? Does this just play normal DS games on it? Are there special games just for the DSi?

Any info would be GREAT!! TIA!

Yep we have one. It just plays reg DS games. Can I add its awesome! You can download DSi games from the net if you have wifi

Be aware that you can no longer play gameboy advance games with it (not that it matters--I never do with my lite).

And no there are no exclusive games per say--besides the downloadable games--which is why I haven't and will not buy one yet.

If you don't have a Lite, then I think it's worth it to get the DSi, but if you have a prefectly good Lite, there's no way I would buy one yet.

BTW it's been out in Japan for over 6 months with no exclusive games...

My boys both have one. We were able to trade in their DSlites for a $50 credit each. (It would have been more, but they were in TERRIBLE shape. That is why we traded them. They were only attached on one side, and they still gave us $100 trade.)

The only difference (besides needing all new chargers and Nerf cases) that we have noticed is the camera. The kids have a blast with that! They actually use it more than they play games. It's really COOL!

EXCELLENT!! Thanks for the info. My DS (soon to be 10) is getting one for his b'day next week. My parents got it for him and I think we'll get him a bunch of accessories/games to go with it. ( he does NOT have a DS so he's going to be VERY excited!)

I felt like harleyquinn - that DD's DSlite was perfectly fine, why does she need this DSi - but she saved up for the DSi and wanted it so badly.

Anyway, she is totally thrilled with it. In addition to the camera, it has a camcorder and WiFi. Now she doesn't fight me for the laptop!

She plays with the camera more than she plays her games, and she really loves the WiFi.

Games she likes: Nintendogs, SpongeBob, MarioKart, MarioParty, and Brainage.

Don't get Guitar Hero, it won't work with the DSi because it needs the GBA game port.
Also its a little longer than the DS Lite so any case that is meant to snap on or fit very snug on the DS Lite will not fit onto the DSi.
Dd did the trade in at Gamestop and was disappointed that her hard shell case didn't fit it.
