QVC has a pink bundle today. I just caved in and ordered it. Comes with a pink case, screen protectors, some Hannah Montana game & the Enchanted game. $198 but they did 3 payments. Should arrive before 12/11.

I couldn't find any bundles with games she'd play, so this was probably best for us

Oh I'm glad to see them back on the site. I had checked yesterday for someone and they weren't there for some reason.

I checked after your first post (LOVE to break up those payments) and the silver wasn't listed in stock or being offered but the black/cobolt or whatever was. Still just not games she'd care for. I checked again on a whim today and they had them around 10 am. I debated and looked up the prices of the games ($20 for each) and just bit it......

Ok, clueless here-I bought a ds at amazon on a whim for my DD (9yrs old tomorrow). She was asking for one, but I hadn't seriously considered it until now. SO-what else does this thing need besides the bundle at amazon? And what games for a girly girl are good, and how much are they normally, and where to buy them? Thanks for any help!!

thanks for posting the qvc deal. I got one on amazon last night but know my dd was looking for pink so now I have a blue for ds when he's old enough and a pink for dd to have later in the year for her b-day. They have leapsters but dd is fast becoming bored with it so I wanted to get her a ds...she'll be thrilled to have it come b-day time...the leapster is fairly new so she's not getting it for christmas but when the deals are there I try to buy and save stuff for later I guess that's how she ends up with some much

You don't need anything else but the DS itself and of course at least one game!
DS games can range anywhere from $9.99 up to $49.99 depending on the type of game it is. My dd is 9 and has had her DS now for 2 years. I can tell you which games she has and which ones she'd like to have:
Anything from the "Imagine" series
Hanna Montana
That's So Raven
Nintendogs is very popular
Holly Hobbie
Build a Bear
Any of the Mario games
Battleship/Connect 4/Sorry/Trouble
and the list goes on and on!

Ok, thanks so much! So these starter kits and things I'm seeing aren't necessary then? And what about the holiday ds kits that game stop has today for 9.99, what are those? It doesn't say, and really I can't tell at all. There is sooo much stuff out there for these things!!
Are screen protectors and extra pens a good idea? Told you I was clueless....

I did manage to get a couple of games at the paypal toys r us deal online...hopefully she'll like them. I got tinkerbell (which she loves) and one with a bunch of dogs, lol. They both had good reviews, so here's hoping :0). I looked at the ones you posted about at sears, but I can't get them at any stores near me.

I was able to get the dark blue with the club penguin game for my 5 1/2 year old son for either his birthday in June or sooner for the spring break trip to WDW. (I had my son come to the computer to pick out his color, but he didn't or doesn't know that it is for him)

Are there any boards online that are friendly and discussion games and accessories for the ds and such??
