Hi all! I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere and forgot to ask the person at Best Buy when I bought the DS for my daughter. I just know I will get my answer here! :teeth:

Do I have to buy a memory stick/card for the DS? It's a Christmas gift, so I haven't opened the box yet to see if I can even put one anywhere, but if I seach for Nintendo DS memory card, nothing comes up.

I just spent a small fortune on a memory stick for my DS's PSP, and I bought the DS without even thinking that I may have to do the same!

If it takes memory cards, which one should I buy?

Thanks!

Hi, For the Nintendo DS Lite you do not need to buy a memory card or stick. The games are stored on each individual game cartridge. Did you buy a DS game to go with the DS?

thanks! That's a relief!! Why can't they all make them like that? The memory stick for the psp is so expensive! I finally found one on sale for $50! ugh!

No you don't!!! Another reason my the DS is better then the PSP! not to mention much better games!

I know! I tried to talk my DS into the DS, but he insisted on the PSP! So, I bought the PSP, bought him a small (cheap) memory card, ONE game, and a case...cost $300! Yikes! I looked and finally found a good memory card for $50, on sale, down from $90! I hope 1GB will last him a while! Seems like most of the games for the PSP are racing games, which he likes, so that's good!

My DD asked for a gameboy advanced for Christmas, but I decided to get her the pink DS instead. So glad I won't have to worry about the memory card. I wish they would make it so you can save your game on all the game cartridges!

Another Plus for Gameboys is the newer ones can still play the older games. My son has an Advance but is getting the DS Lite for Christmas and can still use those games!
