Hi :wave2:

I might be getting a Nintendo DS in soon, and I'd just like some suggesstions/recommendations(s/r) on a few things...

- What games do you s/r?
- Which accessories do you s/r?
- Anything extra you'd like to s/r...

Some interests of mine (you don't have to go by my interests..I'll most likely take any game into mind):

-Pink
-Girly type things ;)
-Building things (whether it be building bears or building houses on Sims XD)
-Adventurous type games
-Games where you control in-game characters
-Puzzles; challenging, but not too difficult
-Umm...Please no violent games about war or guns or anything ;)
-Taking care of people/pets
-Ummm...etc etc XD

Lol.

Oh yeah! I can't decide between coral pink or polar white (the DS itself)...Is there any difference between them besides the color? Any other extra features? Different place holders(i.e. there the stylus is held)? (etc. etc.)

Thanks in advance!

I don't have my own but my boys have them. I like Jewel Quest and Sims Castaway right now. I have played the Harry Potter games and like them too.

For taking care of pets, I'd highly suggest Nintendogs. But it can get addictive at times, lol

For puzzles, I like the classics, (I had to get Tetris lol) and I have this cool puzzle-y game called Metallica.

Hope I helped a little :)

Hello there~
I recently got mine! And I'm in love with my DS! I carried it everywhere with me!

- I would grab the Pink DS. :)
- Screen protectors are absolutely a must! (I didn't use my stylus before put my protectors on... that was a hella 3 days wait !)
- I use a ipod-alike socks for my DS! It's very handy to keep it clean and from scratch.
- R4 card <- Google it - this turns your DS into music/movie/e-book/picture player :)

I also got my wife one, and she starts to carry it everywhere are well. The funny thing is I also got most of my colleagues get it tooo... so we have multiplayer during lunch time in the office.

Games:
- Mario Kart DS
- New Super Mario Bros
- Tetris
- Picross <- personal favorite puzzle (not hard) game
- and many more!

:cool1:

If you like taking care of pets like someone elses said Nintendogs is an AWESOME game. The puppies are so lifelike and cute! and there is a TON of things you cna do with them..There is this bubble blower toy that you have to actually BLOW into the DS to get to work so it is a very interactive game!

Another must have is Animal Crossings World. It is a game where you walk around your little town completing tasks and earning money. you can buy things for your house and just like VMK some things are VERY rare.
If you have friends that also have the game you can invite them to visit and even move into your town. It is a very cute game!

Acsessories...a must have is the car adapter for ling trips!
There is also a web browser they sell so you can get on the internet when you are near a wifi hot spot.

Extra Stylus, I bought my son the metal ones because they were sturdier, they have the protective felt type tip though, and also there is a finger stylus that you can put on the tip of your finger which is cool bc the regular stylus is pretty small and can cramp your hand on games where you have to tap alot.

Oh and make sure you get the DS LITE not the original, it is so much lighter and the screen is MUCH brighter than the older mod.

Good luck!

- Screen protectors are absolutely a must!

I completely agree about the screen protectors. At least on the bottom screen is a must.

As far as a stylus goes I found some that are like a ballpoint pen but when you click it to use it the tip is a stylus. I love these since they are larger to hold and if you play for an extended time your hand doesn't start to hurt.

Other must have accessories are some form of case (the one I got you don't have to take the DS out to play) and cases for games (the ones I have hold three games per case and come in a pack of three cases)

Picross is one of my favorites also. I had done these in puzzle books before but it is nice to have an electronic version in case you make a mistake.

I also have both Brain Age games and Big Brain Academy which are fun.

An addictive puzzle game I got for Christmas for mine was the Meteos: Disney Magic game. It is similar to Tetris in you want to clear the board but there is many differences. Kind of hard to explain unless you see it lol.

If you're into Pokemon at all, I definitely recommend Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. Best games of the series so far, in my opinion. I got my DS just for those games and they're still the only DS games I have.

Just wanted to say thanks! (Sarcasim) lol
I have never heard of the game before so I googled it....
I have been playing this darned game online all day!!!
Talk about addictive!! :surfweb:

I believe there is a Disney puzzle game.. starts with "M".. Metriods or whatev.

I hear it's very fun.

Thanks guys!

I haven't gotten my DS yet...they're sold out everywhere! So, I'm still open to more suggesstions. Some games I'm interested in:

MySims
Animal Crossing:Wild World
Sims2 Castaway

Cooking Mama2
Zelda:Phantom Hourglass
Spectrobes-Disney game..don't know much about it, but anything disney must be good, right? ;)
Harvest Moon-Don't know much about this either..I've heard some pretty good things about it, but it just doesn't seem to POP out at me...
Sims2 Pets-I've heard that this game is a bit boring, but it still kinda interests me...
River King:Mystic Valley-Hardly know ANYTHING about this game, but it interests me also
Pokemon-Some type of Pokemon game, still don't know which one yet(suggesstions are appreciated)...you can't have a handheld without ever playing a pokemon game!! xD

If you have any opinions, reviews, etc., about any of these games, it would help as well! =]

All of those are good, but Spectrobes is really short. My ten year old
brother finished it in two days.

Legend of Zelda:Phantom Hourglass has great puzzles that aren't
too challenging. It was perfect for me.
overall Phantom Hourglass is a great game!

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl were also great, they sold about 5 million copies
within the first three months they went on sale and were the bestselling
game of 2007 so that's recommended as well.

Animal crossing is a pretty good game, i played it. I really don't think there is a point to the game, except owning a house, paying off your mortgage and stuffish.

You can go fishing, hunting for bugs with nets, digging for fossils and other junk, and axing stuff, like trees.. ( im not sure if axing is a word ) and you can shoot stuff out of the sky with a sling shot, and water plants with a watering can.

The biggest point to me in the game, is to get points for your home. You can join the Home Room Academy, where they judge your rooms according to wallpaper, furnish, and stuff. Then you get points.

But honestly, after a while, this game gets boring in my opinion. Its really only fun when you connect with someone else, and you go to their town and talk, hang out, and visit their town.

You also have animal neighbors lol.. and you can talk to them, do them favors, and if your nice to them, they will stay in your house, but if your mean, they'll leave pretty quickly. But eventually they leave anyway so you get new neighbors.

But like i said, it DOES get boring after a while, but its really mostly fun when you connect going to other peoples houses.

Hope this helps in some way. And if you need other help, people post reviews for stuff on Amazon.com

Thats where my brother bought me my DS, and animal crossing:wild world game together.

There was a really cool Special Edition Nintendogs set available for Christmas. You may want to check Toys R Us or places like that, as they may have one or two left somewhere. It is a pink DS lite with a darker pink paw print on the front and it comes with the Nintendogs game. I was able to pick up the Zelda edition, and absolutely love it. I'd never owned a DS before, so it took a little getting used to. I will definitely have to look into the larger stylus that someone mentioned earlier, because after a while your hand does start to cramp up.

As for games, I first played Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Wonderful game, really enjoyed it. I then picked up Pokemon Pearl and am still working on finishing my National Pokedex. It will definitely keep you busy. I also bought Super Princess Peach. It's a cool game, because in it Mario gets kidnapped and Peach has to save him from Bowser. A really nice plot twist. Plus, it is a very pink game :lovestruc

I have to agree with the pokemon diamond/pearl choice, definitely an adventure. But if you're looking for some slow adventure, I'm surprised nobody mentioned this, but check out Lost in Blue or Lost in Blue 2. I like it bc it's challenging and it's not the same old going around on an island kind of thing. It's got strat, puzzles, adventure, sometimes a bit of humor. What more can you ask for?

Also a random game that you might enjoy: Contact. It's a little quirky adventure game so that might be nice.
