Hiya

Eve's UK DS plays games we bought in Florida so I guess it'll work the other way round :sunny:

Didn't notice any prices whilst we were over there but think Walmart have them and you'd be able to sort any problems out at Asda when you got home (I think :sunny: )
I say that because Eve's 'touch screen' stopped working, on the last day of our trip, and we had to nip to Curry's to get it sorted when we got home :)

Just found this on the Walmart site Anna:

Whether you get the console from the US or not the games are a lot cheaper over there :thumbsup2

The last time we were there (Feb '05) both The Florida Mall and Mall At Millenia had video game shops. The hardware and software were a lot cheaper than the UK as most prices in $ were the same as £. We bought my daughter a Gameboy SP and games for around 60% of the price in the UK. We've had no problems with any of the DS or GBA games we've bought - they work on all systems.

However, if you buy the hardware over there don't forget you'll be getting a USA charger that won't work (without an adapter) in the UK. Chargers specifically for the UK can be bought here though so it shouldn't be a problem.

We bought 2 DSs in December from a shop in the Florida Mall (Electronics Boutique?).
I think they only worked out about £5-10 cheaper than in the UK, but the games were a lot cheaper. We got the Nintendogs for about £16.

We got a UK power adapter from this website when we got home:

Depending on when you go, its worth hanging on until May to buy a DS Lite, which is a far better peice of kit, being smaller with the same sized screens but much better build quality and image quality.
The DS hasnt interested me really up till now, the flash cartridges being a bit messy to use on them, but I do fancy MarioKart online, so will be buying a DS Lite this trip.

Just wanted to say that this thread was really helpful. I had intended asking the q myself as my DD wants to buy one when we travel in the summer.

As usual loads of good advice. :thumbsup2

Thanks!!!

We bought a Gameboy Advancwe last time we wer ein fl. The only thing we needed was a voltage converter and bought one very cheaply on the 192
