My DD is going to be asking Santa for a 3DS this year, since mommy refuses to get her one. ;)

I've noticed most places have it for $169.99. I saw that at Sears, I can get it for that price, with free shipping, plus a $30 gift card and, 5 points per dollar with mypoints.

I'm wondering if that's the best it's going to get, or if I'll be able to get it cheaper around Black Friday. What do y'all think?

I'd say that's close to the cheapest you're going to find.

There will be deals on them, but at $139.99, that's a pretty decent deal... I'd go for it... don't think you'll find it much cheaper than that.

Prices will be pretty much the same anywhere, but there may be different bundles at different stores or a special edition only at a specific store.

We always buy ours used from GameStop but there won't be much discount on the 3DS yet since there isn't a newer product yet.

Actually, there is. It is the 3ds xl. My kids want that one!

Target had a great deal last year....but really the deal you posted sounds like a great deal and probably one of the best you'll get this season. I know that Target has already said they are not going to have the deals they've had in the past :( for 2012's holiday shopping.

I bought my husband one and he's used it a handful of times since Christmas. Maybe I'll re-gift it to my middle son LOL

That is a really good deal. Who knows if they will have a better one? My mom paid $169 at Best Buy for my son's, but it came with a free game (we didn't get to choose which game but I looked it up and it got good reviews, and he likes it). I like that all of the games he had for DSLite are compatible. 8o)

The price just dropped to $169 after the XL came out so I do think $139 is as low as you are going to get this year.

We got our deal from Target as well last year. I think we paid $155 including sales tax.

Where did you hear that they won't have the deals this year?

I am not counting on deals anyway, but just curious.

Thanks everyone! I think I'll snag it.

My daughter doesn't want the XL because it doesn't come in pink!! :) Yay, at least I can save a little money on that!

P.S. I also heard somewhere that Target will not be offering the great deals they've done in the past. I think if that's true, they'll soon change their mind. What store says "count us out" on the biggest shopping day of the year?

Ebates is offering double cash back at Sears (6%). Not sure how long that is good through.

Shop around closer to the holidays. Especially with the new 3DS XL that is out. I got my ds' 3DS last year at Target(it was also his Santa present), I think after Thanksgiving, for $169.99 with my 5% off with my Target red card, then they gave me a $50 Target gift card.

there are sure to be bundles or free game offers closer to thanksgiving at gamestop, walmart and most likely toys r us
