Nintendo 3DS + 20 e-games - $170 TODAY/TOMORROW ONLY

Thanks so much OP! I was planning on getting DS10 one for Christmas after the price drop, even though I knew he really wanted the exclusive games (I just couldn't justify paying that much for it.) I had to go to 2 walmarts but I did find one tonight, so now he gets the best of both worlds, and I'm through with his big gift for Christmas!

One question though: I register it on club.nintendo.com now, but the games are not available now, is that right? I guess they'll send an email or something when we will be able to download them?

Thanks again!

Club Nintendo isn't where you need to register it to get the games. You need to get the DS itself online today, perform a system update, and connect to the e-store. Once you do that, you'll see a notice under the "news" section that says you are part of the ambassador program. If you don't do that by tonight, you won't be eligible for the games. The first wave of games will be available to download on September 1, and the others (the exclusive ones) will be out sometime after that.

It's really easy to do, and there are instructions on nintendo.com

Go to the system settings, that's the wrench icon on the home menu. Then scroll to page 4, and click system update. It will take some time. Once that's done, go to the e-shop on the home menu, it looks like a shopping bag. Click on that, and then look for the news icon, and if you have a news item about it, then you are set. The games look pretty good, too. :woohoo:

Does anyone have any feedback for the 3DS? DD wants the DSI XL, but mostly for a camera and the drawing program the DSI has. She's definitely not a gamer, but as her friends at school get into it more, so does she. I don't know whether to just get her the DSI XL, but at the same price for 20 extra games, I'm still torn.

Thank you both!!

I have been trying to update mine for over an hour and it will not work. It will say updating and then a few minutes later it says system error. Any ideas?

Is it connecting to the internet properly? When I first got a dsi, I couldn't get it to connect to the e-shop or anything connected to going online. When we hooked up the new router it worked. Maybe there's a connection issue somewhere. I hope you can get in updated and into the e-shop. Maybe somewhere nearby has free wifi and you could get it to do the update there?

Does anyone know if for Target's price adjustment the price needs to be in an ad or just the price where it is on the shelf? I'm trying to decide if I should go to Target today and see if my local store has the price drop, or see if it's mentioned in the ad on Sunday. I was willing to pay the full $250 and get the 20 ambassador games, but if I can get the $80 back that would be great.
I normally don't try doing this, so I really don't know.

Ended having to go to my BIL and using it there. We tried McD's, but could not get it to work. So we sat outside his house(at work), got his password to his router and got it to FINALLY update. This is after calling Nintendo twice. They were very nice.

I'm glad you got it updated. I went ahead and bought mine on Monday because I was afraid if I waited I could have trouble updating and getting into the eShop for the ambassador status. Now I wish I'd waited a day and gotten the cheaper price and ambassador status without having to go back in for a price adjustment. I'm still trying to decide if I should go tonight, or wait for the ads to come out and go Sunday or early Monday.
Did you go into the eShop with it to make sure that you have ambassador status?

It took me a little while to figure it all out, but I did get into eshops and clicked on "news" and saw that it said I was a nintendo ambassordor.

I dont think it would matter if you just waited till Sunday or a few days later when you are out to do the price adjustment at Target. Just make sure you are in that 14 day period. I took my receipt in only and got a $3.00 adjustment on a lego set one time. They are very good about it.

I'm glad you got in and saw that you're an ambassador. I would hate to think that you sat outside for an update but didn't get to be an ambassador because you didn't visit the eShop.
I think I will wait until Sunday or Monday to get the price adjustment, I really don't feel like going out today. If only I'd done a little more research I'd have heard that places were dropping the price early, but I'm not sure if I could have gotten the 3 year warranty/service plan, since it lists $200 as the lowest price covered. I just had to go and make things complicated for myself.

My dh is at Best Buy now. They told us that they will do the price adjustment for 30 days. With the rewards card it was a good deal. I have a happy boy tonight. Good thing since he will be helping me sort laundry later.

Last night I was looking around some of the Nintendo sites, and there were some threads about people who had bad experiences with Nintendo in the past. Evidently Nintendo had "lost" information or something and people were scared that, even though they were showing ambassador status now , it may not be enough proof if something went wrong with their system again. Several people posted that everyone should download one of the free games or other software that they are currently offering which would serve as extra proof that you did indeed register in time, just in case something went wrong.

Just thought I'd let you know in case you'd like to do the same... if my system ever finishes updating, I'll download one of the games tonight!

Thank you!!!!!!!!!! Bought two at Target tonight for dds and both are now ambassadors. :)

Downloads start Sept. 1. I don't think you can download before that.

I went to Target and got a price adjustment. The price was changed on the shelf, but not mentioned in the ad. I don't know if it's just my store or others as well, but the Lego Pirates of the Caribbean game I bought last week was reduced to $29 today, so I got a credit of about $95 when you include the tax. So if anyone else bought Lego Pirates last week at Target, you may want to see if it is the same price now.

Glad they gave you the adjustment!!

DS dragged me out to KMart yesterday. They've got all 3DS games $10 off this week. Most are regularly $40 so are on sale for $30. He was jonesing for Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for quite a few weeks now.

That 3DS is pretty cool. DS has created a Mii and keeps taking the 3DS with him everywhere hoping to collect the Mii's. :lmao: There's also some sort of app that counts your steps and you can collect coins (what they're good for I'm not entirely sure). :thumbsup2 One of my brothers and his gf each got one when I told them about this deal and, so far, they all love it.

I just wanted to tell everyone that in the US, the ten NES games are available for downloading. Getting to them is a bit odd, as you need to go to Settings/Other then Your Downloads and redownload them.
