Nine Dragons

We had a satisfying meal there, but aren't in any hurry to go back.

If you're accustomed to Chinatown-type chinese food, then you may be disappointed. Everything at Nine Dragons seemed heavy on soy sauce and/or sweetness, and the fried rice was sticky.

If you're comparing it to the typical strip-mall "chinese" buffet, then Nine Dragons is better.

We ate there once. It was just like Chinese food from home. Good, but nothing to brag about. The green iced tea was good though!

It is one of our favorite restaurants for 2 reasons. Best hot and sour soup I have ever had, and best service I have ever had.

We ate there last month....it was decent. Not really memorable, but certainly not bad. We enjoyed it for the most part. Was able to walk up w/o a reservation so that was a plus.

We were there in January and the experience could not have been better. Food was excellent and loved the atmosphere and location. They were nice enough, after a brief wait, to find a window table for the two of us even though, as they explained, those were normally only for parties of 4 or more.
Hope you have a great time!

:goodvibes

We went as walk-ups for lunch and it was unexpectedly great (had never been before). I forget what I had, a chicken salad maybe? The blackberry-jasmine iced tea was fantastic. Service was great too. I'd go back.

We had a great meal. Ys the menu is limited but we really enjoyed it. The iced teas are amazing though. Plus you usually can get a walk up :)

How is it? Is it just glorified take out?

It is good food, have no complaints, but its not something I would say "OMG!!! You have to try this place!!!!". It's not like takeout I would get from home, not nearly as greasy. But like pp said you can usually walk in without a reservation, both times we went we did have reservations but the first time it was extremely quiet and the second time extremely busy, so I would still make the reservation as you can't be sure what kind of day they are having.

It's not authentic by any means but we quite enjoyed it. I had the wonton soup and the noodle sampler, both were very good.

We love to go to Nine Dragons just for appetizers.

We get 2 orders or the Chicken and Shrimp Eggrolls, and share the General Tso Chicken Dumplings. Plus I love their Blackberry Jasmine Green Tea and their Caramel-Ginger Ice Cream.

We've had entrees before, but they were the usual Chinese food, shrimp fried rice, or beef and broccoli, they were good, but nothing extraordinary.

And yes, it's one of the only restaurants where you can pretty much walk-up without a reservation and get seated promptly. Which is a big plus.

Had lunch there a few days ago. We'd eaten there before and thought it was ok but enjoyed it this time much much more. Service was excellent and I guess I ordered better. Loved the potstickers and the fish - I think they called it fragrant five-spiced fish? And as a pp said, they let us have a window table meant for four even though there was only two of us. I really appreciated that. It was a great experience!

Is one we do every other trip and the food is always good and the service excellent. It's is major steps above any of our local take out places.

I do miss the way it was before but with new management comes changes...the food is still good but we loved it before :)

I've eaten there twice. The first time, I got their General Tso's chicken, served on a bed of spicy spinach noodles. It was their special for the night... not on the menu. This was several years ago.

On my trip in January of this year, we decided to eat dinner here again. They had some type of General Tso's combo. I explained what I had a few years ago, and they made it for me. The noodles weren't as good as they were years ago (came out a bit dry), but I loved their General Tso's chicken. Not sure why it's not on the regular menu, but they seem to have it on the specials on a consistent basis.

But, as everyone has been commenting, the food was good, and the service was great. AND, it's one of the few places you can get a walkup reservation at EPCOT.

I ate there once. I'll never return again. It got me sick. My mother and I ate there around 7 and by time illuminations was over, I had the pleasure of trying out different bathrooms in the world showcase and into future world. Although service was good, I'm not in any hurry to go back and risk the extended experience again.

I decided to give it another try in January despite the continuing bad reviews. The shrimp and chicken egg rolls were inedible in my opinion and were taken off the bill when I let my server know. The Canton pepper beef was OK, but not as good as a pepper steak from most local take out places.

In my opinion, there is a reason why the place is always empty.
