We do not eat there often, for no particular reason. (Just do not eat at WDW as much since we did not renew the DDE/TiW.)
This was our first time since the Nine Dragons rehab. And we always liked 9D.

Neither of us had eaten much in the day prior to arriving, and it was around 2 pm. We were pretty hungry by then and figured this would be our main meal of the day.
The restaurant seemed steady in business. But far from even being half full. Which considering it was mid afternoon was not too surprising.
The new decor is very relaxing and nice.

We started with an ice chai tea. It was clear, as it looked like regular tea. There was nothing floating around, and no visible spices. And I can say this is now my absolute favorite tea in all WDW. :lovestruc :cloud9: And I love the mint tea in Morocco. To me, this was even better and I was in heaven. DH was not as crazy about it as I. That stuff could be like crack for me.
It came in a goblet, and there is no free refills. It was $2.98 a serving, and I did not hesitate to order a second. Pricey, but well worth it, to me. I am hoping I can order them walk up to go in the future. I could carry around a big gulp size and be perfectly happy. :cutie:
I did not see this beverage offered at the China counter service. I looked afterwards. I should have looked in their store to see if they sold tea bags of this. :scratchin

We ordered an appy to share: Pot Sticker - a classic sauteed pork and vegetable dumpling served with Cilantro-Soy dipping sauce.
The appy consisted of 4 pot stickers and the dipping sauce. DH liked them better than I. I thought they were undercooked and not anything special. However the dipping sauce was out of this world good.  :upsidedow

Next, I ordered Honey Sesame Chicken. DH ordered Kung Pao Chicken.
He was told by the server the Kung Pao Chicken was spicy. DH enjoys spicy. But this was even more spicy than he enjoys. He learned to stay away form the sauce. The dried chili peppers are not only whole in the dish, they are chopped fine throughout the sauce.
This was probably equivalent to a medium to spicy Thai dish. Other than too hot, he enjoyed it.
He tasted some of my Honey Sesame Chicken and liked mine better, which surprised me, as usually he does not care for dishes like that.
However it was because mine was exceptionally good.
The batter was very light, not greasy. The chicken was all white meat and very tender.
It truly was a honey sesame sauce/glaze, rather than that reddish-orange goopy thick over-sweet sauce you get at most Chinese food take out and walk up.
It came with a small side of slaw. But I am not a cucumber person, and did not eat it. (One of the fine sliced veggies was cukes.)

We even splurged on dessert. We ordered Banana cheesecake eggroll for two. It came with a choice of ice cream, and we selected their candied ginger ice cream.
Banana, cheesecake, caramel, in an eggroll shell, with two scoops of the ice cream on the side. Very yummy.
They also offered ginger cake. Had I not been sharing a dessert I would have tried that.

Great service. Nice surroundings. Relaxing. Good food. I look forward to trying something different next time. But gotta have that tea! :rolleyes1 :worship:
We will return. :cheer2:

After our meal I bought a straw hat at the outside China vendor. You will never guess the price. $1!! Yes, ONE dollar. And it was a big help blocking the hot afternoon sun yesterday.

Then we did three countries with the new Kim Possible missions. And then sat through one show of Off Kilter.
Lots of flowers and topiaries out already too.

A good afternoon indeed. :thumbsup2

Yum!!! You made me hungry and craving chinese! The chai tea sounds delicious!

Thank you so much for posting this review. My mom and I are going here on the first night of our vacation in May and haven't read anything about it, much less a review about it. Seems like no one really wants to eat Chinese food when they can get take out back home! ha But mom and I are really looking forward to it now. Thanks a lot :)
