How is the food at Nine Dragons in Epcot? Also when is a good time to go? I was checking the available times for the date I would want to go and it seems like it would be between 4/5ish and 7/8ish. For that day either time would be fine for us but I wasn't sure about the later one with illuminations since the area around the world showcase can get pretty crowded. Can you see illuminations from the restuarant? I'm guessing you can't but want to double check. :goodvibes

Food at 9 Dragons is good, but not worth the price. You can most likely get better chinese food in your own home town for a fraction of the price you'll pay at 9 Dragons.

I'd take the earlier seating since you wouldn't be able to see Illuminations from inside the restaurant.

Nine Dragons used to be a great treat. Then it was rehabed and got a new menu. Now its a major disapointment. Same food as your local take out Chinease place at much higher prices. So sad. :(

We were there last October and thought the food was EXCELLENT and the prices similar to what you get everywhere at TS at WDW. I am from a big city and grew up eating really good Chinese so I was prepared to be disappointed from what I had heard here. I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was delicious...very fresh and flavorful. Our party had the taro lollipops, the beef cong yu bing, 2 soups, General's chicken served on spinach noodles and the noodle sampler (one spicy and one not). We thought it all was great....not really similar to anything I have had at any of my favorite chinese restaurants. The service and presentation was excellent and we can't wait to go back!! There have been mixed reviews....but this is normal for WDW restaurants. I love Boma and not everyone does. I think Le Cellier is mediocre at best and there are many that rave about it. I think Victoria and Alberts is the perfect dining experience and there are many that wouldn't dream of spending that much on food. So, for what it's worth...there is my opinion!!

BTW, the two entrees I mentioned were shared so they are quite large especially after appetizers.

Oh man it was disgusting, so bad that the restaurant had to comp our meal...and later that night DH was sick to death (he ate more than I). If you click on my June link you will find a ton of pics and a full review.

I have to agree with engle - we have been there several times ( both before and after the renovations ) and have never been disappointed.

I, too, have lived my whole life in a city known for good food and was prepared to be disappointed, but the food was terrific! More importantly it was very fresh.

The resturuant is beautifully themed, comfortable and the staff is lovely. Your waiter will give you an account on their home country and assist you with writing in chinese if you like.

Overall, I have always had a good experience there.

It's fine. Sure, it's more expensive than local Chinese places. But as far as I know, none of my local places deliver to Epcot.

My family and I loved nine dragons. The had a special that included appetizer, soup, meal and dessert that one could use as a meal on the dinning plan. The food was above average Chinese food. Our waitress seemed to be at our table every 15 minutes, filling up waters and making sure we were ok. She was very pleasant and gave our kids a quick lesson on using chopsticks.

The decor and atmosphere was well done - it was a bit crowded and a bit loud - not a place for a romantic, quite dinner - but my family is loud so it was great for us.

I haven't got to the meal in my reviews yet, where I will have loads of pictures to post, but can say it was the best meal of our trip - great food and impeccable service. The restaurant was half empty which I just couldn't understand. We will definitely return!

My family enjoyed Nine Dragons the most out of all our meals last trip in June. We had a beautiful seat by the windows overlooking the lake. We could have watched illuminations from our table, but I would say only about 8 tables could do that. Our server was fantastic, and the service overall was great. We loved our food. We are looking forward to returning. I thought the menu was quite different from the local Chinese offerings. I believe all the entrees were cheaper than most buffets. Steak and shrimp was good (I would never order that from a local Chinese restaurant), and I give the spinach noodles and peppery shrimp a big thumbs up! :thumbsup2
