As many of you know Gdad is a bad influence on a lot of us and I obtained the 50mm 1.2 manual focus several months ago. I have the 50 1.8 that is less than a year old and has probably been on my camera twice. Many of you previously suggested I keep it as a good to have around.

Well the 1.8 still has not been on my camera and I am going to sell it. I have purchased from Nikonians board before but have never sold there. I have also had good success on ebay. Any opinions as to the best place to sell.

I am also going to sell my Lowepro Computreker Plus back pack. Yeah, Mr. Mark convinced me to get a different shoulder bag for my trip to China. It is also just a year old and in pristine condition.

I am not leaving others out of the conversation but doubt you have ever been to the Nikonians I want to sell thread!

Thanks in advance for your sage advice and wisdom.

Hmmmm...well since you asked, I just sold my 50mm f/1.8 on Craig's List. :rolleyes1 Bought it used for $80ish back in November or so and sold it for a profit! :goodvibes Jeff can be blamed for my selling stuff. I needed to fund a scanner for my new 120 film and since I haven't used the 50 since I go the Sigma 30, it was the first thing I thought of to get rid of for a quick $100.

I have listed some stuff on Nikonians "want to sell" a few times (and have something listed there right now) and have been met with moderate success. Once, I was going to sell my 18-200 and got an offer, but changed my mind. The other time, I put up my D60 and kit lens and didn't get any offers but shortly thereafter sold it to a relative.

Right now, I have something listed on Nikonians and have a potential buyer in....Alaska. :rotfl: I'm still trying to work out the details right now, so it isn't final---but I would definitely consider it a good place to list something. Give it a bump here and there if it slips back by a few pages and lower the price in $10 increments and you should be good to go. :thumbsup2

Edited to add: The thing I had listed on Nikonians right now, I just sold to that person in Alaska. The PayPal transaction is pending, but it looks like I just made me enough to buy a UWA lens in another month or two ;)

Good luck!

I sold a bunch of stuff earlier this year, to finance my D300 "indiscretion". Most of the equipment was sold via Craigslist. I was happy with the transactions and will probably go that route again when/if I sell my 70-300VR.

I usually post for sale on Nikon Cafe and Dgrin, give it a week or so then it's off to Ebay (for a no reserve auction.)
