Nikon J1 vs Canon 2Ti

Hi,

I have the Canon 2Ti and I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was thinking of buying the Nikon J1 for times when I don't feel like lugging around my Canon and extra lenses.

I would buy the zoom lens for the J1 as well...but it is super small.

Does anyone have info on this camera? Is it worth it...or will I just be wishing I had lugged my Canon with me?

I have a Sony NEX which is also a mirrorless and it's very close to being a DSLR replacement for me. If looking for a more compact camera (which was THE huge sales point for me) the NEX are what I would go back to again because the sensor is the same used in the aps-c DSLR's. The Nikon J1 has a much smaller sensor that I think would be more of a compromise than necessary compared to other options out there. The J1 also seems to have the least features of all the mirrorless options - ie, less bang for the buck.

Just my .02 cents although not a comparison of the J1 to the 2Ti. I think you might be very pleased with a mirrorless if weight is a driving factor but I'd honestly consider just about all others before the Nikon offering.
