Nikon Hidden Mickeys

I was posting a picture of this on a sales forum and my daughter pointed out all the Hidden Mickeys on the box! I think maybe she is on to something.

Why are you selling your 70-200 f/2.8? I have the Canon equivalent and it is my favorite lens by a wide margin.

That's pretty funny. As many times as I've looked at my boxes, I've never once noticed that.

Now......why the heck are you selling 1/3 of the Trinity? I have a hard time even removing mine from the D300.

Very good point but I believe he still has at least one DX sensor in his arsenal and also the 70-200VR on a full frame can have some rather acceptable vignetting with regards to portraits.

I think I might go with something like funding an even bigger, better piece of glass.

Is that a DX lens? I'm not that familiar with Nikon, but I thought the DX lenses all had DX as part of the name.

I think the AF-S means Silent Wave Motor (AF motor in the lens), VR means the lens has a stabilizer, the G has something to do with the control of the aperture (but I've never really understood what), the IF means that it is internal focusing, and the ED means that it has low dispersion glass in it.

It is actually a full frame lens that can be used on a DX sensor but it's been noted to be soft on the edges when used on a full frame body.

G simply means that the lens does not have an aperture ring.

To be honest it is part of an overall downsizing- in a few weeks after my next (and last) wedding I am going to sell the D300 which I never use either and just have the one camera body. I have not even used the 70-200 in months- it was amazing on the D300 but on the D700 I really prefer my little 180/2.8. The last time I had the 70-200 out of the bag it was a month ago to take a picture OF it instead of a picture WITH it to show the size difference to somebody. I don't even remember when I used it before that.

I so wish I could take that off your hands, but we're trying to avoid any major purchases for the time being.
