Nikon D90 lens recommendation

I am getting a D90 and taking the 18-200 VR lens from my D70 so I need a lens for the D70.

Is it worth buying the kit lens 18-105 VR lens or look for another one? It wouldn't be my main lens.

The 18-105 VR is a very good lens but unless you are going to be using both camera at the same time I would look into something else like a UWA or 50mm of some sort.

I agree!

I had to get the 30mm, because I have a D40 which the focusing motor is in the lens and not the camera, but a prime lens is very cool at night and for shallow DOF.

I also have the D90 and I'm looking at getting a 50mm and the Tamron 18-270 lens. I'm hoping with the two of them that will be a good start. right now I'm using the kit lens.

Thank you for the suggestions. I purchased the camera and lens earlier today. I like the idea of a UWA. That is next on the list. I can't wait for Friday for the new purchases to get here.
