Nikon D3100 HELP!!

I just bought a nikon d3100 today and can't seem to use "set picture control" because it says "This option is not available with currant settings."

i don't know what settings i have it on to not be able to use this control. i have it on auto.

A lot of times you can't change things like that when you're in auto mode. Try program mode, shutter prioroty (s), aperture priority (a) or manual.

Also, it won't work if you are using any of the presets.

It is because you use auto mode!
