Nikon Coolpix...Lens Error

Lens Error.. That's what my camera says...My DH is in the hospital . I have already lost his cell phone and now his new camera says Lens Error...Can anyone help me before I get in big trouble?

I would call their tech support number. They might be able to diagnose the actual error quicker. They have in depth manuals specific to each model.
