Nikki's trip report~Finally Complete! Come read. Pg 25

Hey!

I must have missed something the past few days and saw the Trippie. Loved the pictures by the ocean. Can't wait to read more.

Hey Nikki! I'm subscribing to your TR. Sorry I'm late to the party. It's been a busy week. We closed on our house last Friday, moved in over the next 3 days (spent our first night here on Monday), and have been unpacking and trying to get settled in all week.

Your trip report is off to a great start! Glad y'all had a great trip. Sorry the weather on the way down was so nasty.

Tried to do this one myself. I told Robby to come get in a picture with me. I honestly have no idea what this child is doing?? Looks like he wants to do a Mike Tyson!

Funny! :lmao:

I went to leave and tried to pull the door open. This was the same door I just walked into not 5 minutes ago. I pulled and pulled. I tried the other door, nothing. They were locked.

I went back to the counter to tell them for some reason I had locked myself in here. I was kind of freaked out.

The guy just looks at me and with the most calm of voices says "push"!

I wanted to die.

I busted out laughing and by the time I got to the truck I was laughing so hard I was crying.

The guys got a huge kick out of this and every door from then on, they say "push". Hee Hee Funny!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

We hit a K-mart. Thinking we might score some cheap souveniers. Nope. Does it seem like all K-marts are looking worse? They look really run down and cramped!

I agree. I rarely go to K-Mart, and when I do, the parking lot seems so empty, especially compared to Wal-Mart. I don't know how they continue to stay in business. :confused3

Did the bedbug check though. This is standard for me, I don't want to take them little critters home with me.

Before we went to NYC last year, I read that there was a bedbug problem in a lot of hotels up there (apparently a lot of foreign travelers are importing them in their luggage). We did a thorough check for bedbugs when we checked in, and as an extra precaution, we sprayed ourselves with Deep Woods Off before going to bed each night. LOL!!!

Barbeque! It was wonderful. The perfect Thanksgiving dinner. I had ribs, chicken, pulled pork, french fries and coleslaw. The chicken was pretty dry, the ribs were a little tough, but man that pulled pork was out of this world. The had different sauces you could put on it, we tried them all.

Pulled Pork...yum, yum!!! My friend, Kirk, from Washington state fell in love with pulled pork bbq when he visited us last year. He ate it twice during his brief visit.

Look forward to reading more updates about your trip!

Hi Nikki! Glad I found your report! Looking forward to more! :surfweb:

Hey Nikki - I made it over here too. Your pictures are awesome. I love the one wit the tree in the front & the ocean in the back - what kind of camera do you have? Sounds great so far. :goodvibes

Very good updates, and it looks like I am first to respond.
Loved the pictures on the beach, how cold did it get that night out there?
Yep, you're first! It got down to 60 I think. It never got below that the whole time we were there. That day was the coolest day the whole time we were there.

I am alot of different kind of peoples people.

I guess you can say I am a peoples people. or is that a peoples person.:confused3

Im likable, how is that.
:thumbsup2

I like ya!

Awesome! I love the ocean. What a great way to spend Thanksgiving. I love the picture of Robby joining you for a quick "shot". Looks like something I'd do. :rolleyes1
It was a WONDERFUL way to spend Thanksgiving. I'm looking at wonderful ways to spend Christmas!! Didn't feel guilty about ditching the families at all. Exept my daughter. I forgot about calling her that day and got a not very nice text message. Oops!

He said he wanted it to look like he was eating my hair:confused3 ??

Uhg! I hate when this happens. It seems like when you REALLY need a room bad, they never have it ready. When you don't care, the room is always ready for you. Very aggravating.
I KNOW! The parking lot was empty and the room was not so nice. I figured the guy was being a jerk but what do you do??

::yes:: Avoid at all costs!! :thumbsup2
Amen!!

I'm sorry! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Aside from the nasty hotel room it sounds like a wonderful day was had at the beach. I love that you all had BBQ for Thanksgiving dinner.
That's alright. I chalk it up to being tired, not blonde!

The barbeque was much better than an old dried out turkey. It was pretty yummy!

Loving your trip report. I cannot wait to read more. The pictures are awesome....the one of the ocean with the tree is amazing. Way to go.
Thank you very much! I was proud of that picture. Keep checking in, I have tons more!

It never ceases to amaze me what you get charged for the crappiest rooms just beacue they are in a tourist area:sad2:
The same room on a different night was $50 cheaper! I really need to do a rating for Hotels.com. I want people to know!!

What a great way to spend Thanksgiving. Can't wait to hear more:goodvibes
It sure was. I couldn't have been happier! More coming soon.

That WAS funny. :lmao:

...but I was polite enough not to point it out. :snooty:
Oh Buzz, your such a gentleman! But that's alright, it was funny. I wonder what the guy said when I finally made it out.

 Hey, if she didn't want us to comment she wouldn't have posted it. We are laughing with you, not at you. Besides I have had duh moments like that as well.
I know, I know. I seem to have a lot of duh moments. They seem to be getting more frequent, like every time I have a birthday.
You were laughing AT HER! Admit it.

I'll be nice to you Nikki.
Really, it's alright. Thanks for sticking up for me.

I would never do such a thing, I am a kind and compassionate person who never takes pleasure in another persons mistakes and misfortunes.
Really? I do. Only if they are funny though.

Hey!

Thanks, I really had fun taking them. It was so great to just be there. I'll try to get more up soon.

I checked into your report and read that. Congratulations!! How exciting for you. Take it slow, it's the holidays and you have plenty of years to get that all done. Relax!!
Your trip report is off to a great start! Glad y'all had a great trip. Sorry the weather on the way down was so nasty.
Thanks! We did have a great trip. It was pretty nasty, but we were like the little engine that could, no stoppin us!

I agree. I rarely go to K-Mart, and when I do, the parking lot seems so empty, especially compared to Wal-Mart. I don't know how they continue to stay in business. :confused3
They were supposed to be going bankrupt and closing them a few years ago. Don't know what happened there, but they should have.

LOL!!!
When I think about them I lay in bed and itch all night. Drives me insane. You spray yourselves?? I hate the way that stuff feels. But I guess if you didn't come home with any, you did good!

Pulled Pork...yum, yum!!! My friend, Kirk, from Washington state fell in love with pulled pork bbq when he visited us last year. He ate it twice during his brief visit.
That stuff is WONDERFUL!!

Look forward to reading more updates about your trip!
Thanks!!

Thank you Glendamax. Soon I hope! It's a shame when you go to work and have to actually work!!

Thanks! I have a canon EOS digital. I LOVE it! I want to take some classes to learn more about it, but I'm having no success finding one.

I just ate me a mess of fried chicken. Fried Chicken = gud.

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: OMGosh, how embarrassing.

We got back to the icky hotel and took off our shoes, (not Jay) and walked out the back gates to the beach. On our way out we noticed the pool and hot tub were closed for some reason or another. So, $140 for a crappy room with no pool or hot tub! Nice huh??

Ugh. That stinks :headache:

Loved your ocean shots :thumbsup2

Thanks! Will do!

We only sprayed ourselves during the New York City trip after reading how severe the problem was in hotel rooms there. We've never done that when staying at hotels in other cities.

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. :thumbsup2
Yummmmmm! I love fried chicken! But why did you have it on your chest??

How does that work with the low carb thing? You can still eat fried meats? Do you have to take the skin off?

:rotfl2: OMGosh, how embarrassing.
Just a bit!! Even now, back home, I hear about it! Doors will never be the same for me. Thank the lord for the automatic ones!

Ugh. That stinks :headache:
It did, but I was trying to be "o.k." about it since we were on vacation. Matt wanted to call his friend. He said he was taking the phone outside on the patio. The whole connection thing was off the wall just laying there. Outlets weren't connected to the wall. I don't know how this place was even up to code.

Loved your ocean shots :thumbsup2
Thanks!

Probably not a bad idea. I have heard of them in the Disney resorts too!

You are TOO FUNNY!!!!!! :lmao:
Hey Glendamax, I'm going to try to check out your report today!

**************************************
It has been officially approved! I am going to Disney next year for my Birthday with my daughter. You know what this means?? I get to start planning, again. She turns 21 in September, so it will be milestones for both of us. What better place to spend it at! She was going to do Vegas, but when I asked her to go with me, she said she'd skip it!

I cheat! :thumbsup2

Hey woman! I still avoid taters, noodles, bread, and taters. Those were my four favorite food groups. Now, If I want a little breaded chicken skin, I think I deserve it. :snooty:

How many times do I have to say this:

JUST EAT PROPERLY MAN

I'm tryin this whole low carb thing too. But darn those mashed potatoes last night looked wonderful. We had chicken and I pulled the skin off it, ok yes, I like skin. If I didn't have to pull it off I feel as if I have lost something!! What about whole wheat bread, is that on the good or bad list?? I think cheatin a bit is alright if you have lost something. It's like a reward. I can't imagine life with no pie, Gosh I love pie!

All bread = not gud.

LtP makes a wonderful mashed potato out of cauliflower. No kidding! :thumbsup2
