I had to take a day without pay once a month for all of 2009. Take the one day docked pay and go to the show. It's an opportunity.

UPDATE #3: After an INSANE day trying to get in contact with the superintendent, I finally just got word from the principal. I can go, but have to get docked a full day's worth of pay because I already used my allotted personal days for the school year (we get two). I'm really upset about this and am considering not going. I'm not exactly sure what I should do. What do you all think?

I think it’s a once in a lifetime experience.
I guess whether the experience is worth one whole day of pay would depend on how tight my budget was. IF I could spare that money, I guess I would go if it were me.

Are you going to be out any money to travel to the Dr. Oz show? I don't watch it but for some reason I think it is filmed in NY, right? And you're in Jersey, right? I think if your budget can afford it and you aren't going to be out a lot of money to go, then I would go. You are so proud of your weight loss and what Jenny Craig did for you, I would go. You never know maybe it will be a springboard to do other things with Jenny Craig. Like one of those national commercials.

This is so cool, definitely once in a lifetime and you worked so hard you deserve it. As a teacher I understand the dock pay issue and I'd be in the same boat, but with this opportunity I would have done it too. Let us know when it will be on, can't wait to see it. HOW EXCITING!

I was snooping around the net to see if I could get some info on the show. You'll NEVER GUESS who is going to be there!!!! I'm about to die!

I also found out that the show is going to air February 16th. This is from a press release I found.
