Nikki and Tom take on F&W and MNSSHP-Take 2! LINK TO TR pg. 55

Happy Birthday to Tom :bday:

Glad you enjoyed Mary Poppins :goodvibes

It's official!!

We have an ADR!!! Yay!! Since my sister is arriving 5 days earlier than us, her ADR day is today!! She was able to get everything she wanted, including, our Beirgarten ADR for Thursday. Remember this is the first full day of my trip that overlaps with last full day of my family's trip so we are all meeting for dinner!! I wanted her to get a 5:30 reservation for the 5:55 show but she was only able to get a 6:30 ADR!! I had a mini-panic attack until I checked the times and realized there is a show at 7:05 so we're good!

YAY!!! Now Erin's ADR day is Wednesday and hopefully we'll be able to get 'Ohana for Friday night before MNSSHP and Beirgarten (again) for the 5 of us on Saturday. :cheer2:

Yay!!! So happy you were able to get in to Biergarten - I've never been there myself but other trip reporters make it sound like so much fun! Definitely on my "list!" Having an ADR certainly makes the trip seem more real, doesn't it?! :goodvibes

:yay: for getting Biergarten, I know you guys love that place :goodvibes

Fingers crossed for Ohana :)

Is this cheating?? Don't judge me!

So after the success of my sister getting all her ADRs, I started freaking out that we wouldn't get 'Ohana for Friday night before MNSSHP. Just to refresh, my sister made a Beirgarten ADR for all of us on Thursday night. She is checking out and flying home on Friday...the day that Erin was planning on making the 'Ohana ADR.

So I....and this is where I might be slightly be breaking the rules.....I had my sister make an ADR for us. She was able to get us a 5:20!! I am reeeeally excited about it but feeling a little guilty at the same time because I'm normally really big on following the rules but really, what is the harm? What if she wasn't flying out until later that night and we actually were having dinner with her?

Ahhh! Don't judge me!

It makes it seem so much more official to have an ADR. I would not worry about the ADR your sister made - it is not like you are making duplicate ADRs or stashing extra people in your resort room!

I know you are not technically making the ADR yourself, but I think that it's ok. What I don't find acceptable is when people book multiple ADRs for themselves because they can't decide where they want to eat or what park they will be in on a given day and they take up multiple ADR spaces that could be used by numerous other people out there. I think as long as you are going to use the ADR that it doesn't really matter who makes the reservation or when, but that is just my feelings.

I don't see anything wrong with her making an ADR for you. I don't think it breaks any rules at all. I think if it did, Disney would have found a way to stop people from doing that.

Happy Birthday Todd!

Happy belated bday! and happy bday to Tom! wow, you scored awesome bday gifts too.

i see nothing wrong with the Ohana ADR. i wouldn't stress about it, it's not like you are saying your 3yo is a 2yo, or re-using a mug from 5 years ago, or hopping to the another pool when not DVC, or well.......we can end the list there of the hotly debated topics. :lmao::rotfl: i don't think yours falls into that category! ;)

I'm glad that you were able to get that Biergarten ADR.

As for the Ohana ADR, I don't see a problem with it. What if your sister wanted to plan this Ohana dinner as a surprise for you? Then she would have to book it herself. Just enjoy it. :goodvibes

Congrats on the ADRs!

Thanks guys! That makes me feel better. I didn't really think there was anything wrong with it but you never know what people might think!

OMG now I'm having a panic attack! :scared1:

First, I don't think it's wrong that your sister made you an ADR...I'd do the same thing if I knew someone was going to be there before I was! :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Second...I was hoping to do Ohana the same night, before MNSSHP! I'm guessing by the time I make my ADR's next Sunday, it won't be available anymore, so I guess I should do some tweaking to my itinerary so I don't freak out! I'm already freaking out a little, I really wanted to do Ohana on our arrival day, but if it's booked, then I guess I'll do it another night! :confused3

First of all, calm down! Haha! Don't freak just yet. It would be so cool if you were there the same night!

When my sister booked it, there was a 5:20 and a 6:30 that showed up. Also keep in mind, this is for a party of 5. I feel like we've always had the best luck with just Tom and I for our little party of 2. Most tables, I would imagine, are for 4. I would also like to add that when we went to MNSSHP in 2009, I decided about 2 months out that I wanted to eat at 'Ohana before the party and checked almost every day for an opening and one eventually did open up, just days before our trip! So even if you can't get it on Sunday, there still may be hope!

BTW, I have been reading your TR!! It's great! I haven't responded because I'm so far behind but I wanted to let you know that I'm enjoying it!

LOL, I'm trying not to freak out, this is just the hardest Disney trip I've had to plan yet! It seems like the more days I have, the more I want to do!

I'm hoping that since it is just 2 of us, it will be easier to get an ADR, but like you said, I can just keep checking up until our trip! If I can't get it on my ADR day I'll probably book Tony's or LTT as a back up!

Thanks, I'm glad you like my TR! It's almost over :sad1: I just have 2 more updates to do before I start my October PTR, hopefully this week! :cool1:

Great plan! It's good to have a back-up but still hold out hope for 'Ohana! Ok great..hopefully I'll be all caught up with your TR by the time you are ready to start your PTR then I can be with you from the start! We can countdown together!!

So glad you got two of the adr's! I also don't see a problem at all with your sister booking that adr for you guys. Enjoy it! I've been going crazy over here to figure out our days and adr's here!

I would have done the same thing for Ohanas. No, wait...I would have thought of it a LONG time before :thumbsup2

 For ADR's, by whichever manner they are achieved!:lmao: I would never had have thought there was a possible Disney protocol breach until you mentioned it...but I know what you mean about panic-ing! I freak out if I think I may be even in a small way flouting authority, but naa totally think this is a good call!

O'Hana....I don't eat turkey shrimp or pork, never tried noodles, don't eat broccoli and wouldn't eat a dessert with bananas in it and yes this place is calling me!!
