Hi all. Trying my hand at a pre-trip report. I am checking in at the Boardwalk Villas on May 14th, staying a week. This will be for my 20th Wedding Anniversary with my wonderful DH. This pre-trippie is going to be a little tough, as we are still on the fence as to whether this is going to be a theme park vacation or golf only vacation. As we own our own business, and business has been tough lately, we are still trying to budget a mere 10 days before our vacation. One thing we won't give up on is great food. Where we eat depends, in part, on which type of vacation it will be.

I have done a couple of food reports before, but have never convinced DH to put up with food porn photos. I am hoping that will change this time. Her certainly LOVES to see the food from home, but is too shy and embarassed to feel comfortable bringing out the camera at the table. I am making a cook book for my SIL for Christmas, so I have been playing around with photographing my food at home. We will see if he is comfortable enough when we are out.

Here is our general plan. I will include alternates on days we are not certain where we will be. I have ADR's at all places in the parks, just in case. I am one of those people that make all my ADRs 180 days ahead. Gotta make sure I get in on my favorites. We are DVC members, so we will get some discounts there. I also recently discovered some of my favorite places are available on restaurants.com. Thanks for all you dis'ers that suggested that site. I just love it. Here goes:

Tutto Italia lunch
Kimono's
Chefs de France lunch
Jiko
Wolfgang Puck Cafe (first time)
Bistro de Paris
Il Mulino (Anniversary Dinner 5/18)
Le Cellier lunch
O'hana
Fulton's Crab House lunch
Garden Grove breakfast
House of Blues (1/2 price appetizers for dinner)

We used to go to Cape May and Boma often, but are skipping them this trip. I am disappointed how much the buffets cost now. They are great if you are on the dining plan, but not so great if you are skipping the plan. I think they have become over-priced in order to increase tips using the DDP. We used the plan for years, but have decided to forego it in the future. Many of our favorites are not on the plan, and we like to share appetizers. It just doesn't work for us anymore, and I am glad to go back to some old favorites I missed out on using DDP.

This is the plan for our food. I'm making myself hungry just thinking about all the yummy stuff I plan to have. Will keep you posted as we get closer. Hope to go live once we get there.

count me in! We will be there the same time, 19-25 and I cannot wait, just 2 weeks from today and I am in my happy place :goodvibes

See you there!

wish you have a nice trip! Could you share your interesting things with us when you are back? :)

Hi guys. Sad, sad news. I had to cancel vacation. My physical therapist (car accident injuries) did not release me to go on vacation. Totally wasn't expecting that. Never suspected she would say that taking a week off could cause me more problems. I have been planning our anniversary trip for 17 years, since our first Disney trip to the Poly.

I live in Chicago area, so I am doing the next best thing. I have a reservation at Il Mulino for my anniversary. I also plan to go to Fulton's Crab House this week to get those Mahi Mahi tacos I crave.

Oh no! That is terrible! I hope you are able to reschedule soon!
