Does anyone know when we're supposed to find out the results of the lottery? In one place, it says we'll find out next week, in another place, it says find out on may 6th?

I registered under a different group number (with my sister and her friends). I wish we had all gone under the same group number... might have increased out chances??? We also have 6 people in our group.

Okay, I caved and registered. Never got an email from Nike, so bummed about that. Registered for only the 1/2, b/c there's still a glimmer of hope in my head that I'll get into NY.

In the FAQs page on Nike, it says they'll draw and we'll find out 5/6 like you saw. If I remember from last year, you find out in the morning, PST time though. I think it was before 11.

When selected, Nike will charge your card. I don't know if this works for all cc cards but those who used AMEX in previous years noticed the charge in their on-line statements several days before any announcement was made.

Kim, were you supposed to get a free entry into the race?

I was. When I called, they told me that I would be getting an email, but as of yesterday, I hadn't.

That's okay though, it just furthered my resolve to GET THAT NECKLACE!!

NWM Fans - The Random Drawing selection begins Wednesday and is an all-day process. Registrants will be notified on an hourly basis throughout the day. All registrants will receive notification by Thursday, April 28th. Good Luck!

So, we'll all know by tomorrow. And I'll be checking my e-mail every hour today!!!

I guess the drawing is over. My group didn't get in. I'm 0-4 now in the lottery process. I don't have too good of a track record.

There is always next year! Maybe if a big enough group forms, the chances would be better? There has to be a secret to getting in. I would be interested in hearing if more people got in that were not locals.

Sarah, Nike has been drawing names all day today...according to their facebook page. As they select a name, Nike sends an email to that person (and group) and they charge the credit card submitted at the time of registration. So, people have been checking their cc statements on-line and checking their emails. I assume Nike will send out email notices tomorrow for those individuals not chosen.

It's official. Our WISH/ROTE group didn't get picked. Many of the WISHers did not get chosen for the NYC lottery either. However, to those that did ...

It's official, we did not get in...if I find a code i'll let anyone know that still would like to sign up...I'm 6 for 7, so there's a chance I might find a code!

How did you find out? Aren't we not supposed to find out until next week?

According to their FAQs section on the website, we weren't. They said they were going to announce it on May 12th. The same thing happened with their Nike+ Challenge last year as well. They said you register your runs and the more runs, not miles, you do the better your chances, but then they just chose the person who ran the most miles.

Sorry to hear you all did not get in - that totally stinks.

Lotteries are so frustrating. I wish this race offered a guaranteed entry program like so many others (other than charity) Even though I would most likely be too slow at this point to get into the race via a guaranteed time, at least I know my fate is in MY hands, and if I want in bad enough, it's time to work a little harder.

I'm beginning to develop an inferiority complex here. Marcia, I might have brought the team bad luck.

Kim - if you still want to do this race, I would hound NIKE until they give you a free entrance. Seriously, they said they would. Hound them!

I can't complain; I've done this race twice - once before the lottery and once after they opened the race back up (first come, first serve) a few weeks before the race due to lack of charity participants, I guess. Marcia - you've been lucky up until now.

It appears that you have a better chance of getting in if your group has 100+ members. Some of these groups mentioned that got in were quite large. Personally, I think the groups should be capped at a smaller number. Next year, we should get a group of 1000+ to better our chances.
