Went to the film last night. My girlfriends and I were laughing so hard at the lines and acting we were afraid we were going to get kicked out. The scenery was gorgeous. We went because we all vacation on Hatteras and we had high hopes for Gere and the screen writers. Forget the latter, rent the film and turn off the sound.

Geeze, I hate to hear this. I read the book and loved it. I was really looking forward to seeing it.

I didn't think it was that bad, but I really thought that the characters could have been developed a little more deeply.

I haven't read the book, but those who've read the book and seen the movie say the two are different.

I read the book, but it was awhile ago..i saw the movie last week and enjoyed it--but i like those type of movies sometimes!

I have not seen it yet but I have read the book. It is funny that she said that is what people are saying because I just read the N. Sparks said that he keeps a lot of conrol over his work.

I had read the book and I LOVE Richard Gere, and I even squirmed a little at how sappy it was. It was OK, but its not something I will watch over and over again like Shall We Dance.

I liked the movie -- but I hated the ending. I didn't know how it was going to end before I saw it.

I'll wait for the dvd. It looks like The Bridges of Madison County sappy.

Honestly, I wouldn't have gone if I hadn't been given a free preview night ticket. I am a big sap and am all for romance whatnot, but I usually know better than to go watch a movie like this. Based on the previews, I thought this one would be OK. But I hated the ending. Really didn't know that was coming.

I gag at the commercial, so I can't imagine having to watch the whole thing. However, I'm one who found the novel The Notebook to be sappy! I want to see Nick and Nora's Infinate Play List - keep the chick flicks away! :rotfl2:
