Nightmare Before Christmas at DL

So, last year, my group and I had planned on making the trip to DL in October in order to enjoy the NBC overlay at the Haunted Mansion. Then grad school happened, and I couldn't make the trip and they were kind enough not to go without me. Only, my best friend is a huge NBC fan and since Disney World doesn't do anything cool like holiday overlays on existing rides, we were bummed to miss that AND the face characters of Jack and Sally. Especially her.

This year, we're determined to go and have our dates set for July; my schedule as a future teacher just makes it too hard to go at any other time. I'm bummed we'll miss the overlay, but I'm hoping that there will be at least something NBC at Disneyland that I can tell my best friend she'll be able to see. Because it's the peak of summer, is there any chance the face characters of Jack and Sally will be out anyway? Has that ever happened?

Bummer. Unfortunately the only NBC stuff you will see is some merchandise in the gift shops. The characters are not out year-round

Aw, sad panda. Oh well. Hopefully sometime in the future we'll make it at Halloween-time

Yeah the NBC overlay doesn't happen until September, and I've never seen the actual NBC characters in the parks. Like sonnyjane said though, there is merchandise. The Le Bat en Rouge store (right next to the Gumbo stand) is like 75% NBC merchandise. There's also the occasional item in other stores as well, year 'round.

We love the NBC overlay. Wouldn't miss it. Hopefully you will someday be able to see it. It is really awesome for big fans. You can also have your picture taken with Jack and Sally out in front of the train station in New Orleans. Their costumes are amazing.

They don't take the overlay off until the first or second week in January. Maybe a Christmas time trip would work? I did see Jack and Sally in December, around the Rivers of America.

I think they go a little 'overboard' with NBC,mainly in HM.
To me it was an 'alright' movie,but jeeze.

Nope. Once the overlay is up in late September it stays up through New Year's.

Don't give up - it took us 3 previous trips to finally make it to see HMH this fall! I am the NBC freak in the house so I just couldn't be more excited! I wouldn't give up your trip... just vow to go back again! We did!
