Nightlife on the Wish?

Checking in again to see if anyone has additional insight now that the ship has begun sailing. If anything I am more concerned! Reading the trip reports posted on another blog it looks like Luna is being used for shows only and I didn’t see any references to dancing for adults. The closest thing I have seen is the pirate deck party for all ages. Not feeling good about this……
From Navigators on youtube from MV it looks like. a few options saw one night Adults Krazy Karaoke in Triton lounge it listed, then looked like WIsh Quest in Luna for Adults and also saw slient Disco in Luna the last night Adults only

its reduced to silent discos?
There was really no DJ on board the MV…I didn’t make the silent disco but the space with a “dance “ floor in Luna is so small…but like I said before that seemed to be the trend on the Wish

No there is no real adult night life to speak of as far as dancing, 80's party, etc like they would do in the Tube on other ships. The only dancing was silent DJ and that was shut down promptly at 11am though that was the last night of the MV so I'm not sure if it was on another night would it have been midnight. There were TONS of people dancing and singing and the plug was pulled promptly at 11pm. TBH there isn't a venue for dancing so on the WISH probably a no go. The silent DJ was in Luna but the chairs weren't moved out of the way and the 'dance floor' area may hold 10 ppl so we were standing in the isles and in seating rows. Bayou will have live music but no dancing or dance style music. After that the only real space would be on an open deck. Nightingales is nice for jazz but very low key. (Great COOL, NEAT drinks though!) There are two bars that look to be a stab at trying for a Bon Voyage style bar that is just off the main hall in the other ships. One is in a higher traffic area right by Shutters. There is a LONELY bar that looks just like it a floor below that no one is ever at even with a bunch of adults.

So if you are looking for adult level stuff to balance children fare as on other ships the WISH isn't it. This one is geared mainly to the kiddos.

Oh man, that is disappointing... I'm really thinking of cancelling and choosing an older ship instead. That would be a shame... my daughter is a Marvel fanatic.

Others should chime in but I didn't see a ton of Marvel theming.... The Marvel dining experience IMO wasn't up to snuff. Animators palate is better tech than they are using in the Marvel dining room. I think they missed a BIG opportunity to really show off some tech but honestly its just a video that plays. Talking with Crush is even better tech.....

Agreed…I certainly wasn’t wowed by it…it was just watching screens and pressing a button that doesn’t do anything…it was also super loud so you couldn’t hear your servers or traveling companions…there was so much more potential…

Interesting, I LOVED the Marvel show/videos. I thought it was a much better time than Crush!!

Well thats just embarrassing.

clearly they have designed this ship just for kids. which is weird given kids dont have money and kids can only come if they bring their parents. Parents need activities and space.

should adults start up a protest in the high end retailers to get that space converted to adult activity spaces?

Although I love the sentiment it wont make a difference. The ship is as it is and changing anything in it significantly will require dry dock. You can't magically make areas bigger without it and Disney wont invest in a dry dock for years.

We decided to cancel our cruise on the Wish - going on the Dream instead. For the same price we get an extra day.

I think I would have enjoyed a lot about the Wish, but without better options for adults we decided it just wasn't worth our precious time and dollars.

We were on the MV of the Wish. The size and set up of the adult lounges was really disappointing. First time ever that we were not able to see Match Your Mate (in Luna) since it was packed! My kids got there 15 minutes early one afternoon for Trivial Pursuit and could not get seating. Luna is much too small and people are really crowded in. We are still in covid (which my daughter and I both caught on this cruise) so I am not sure what Disney is thinking. Dance floor was TINY. It seems like they added more bars but made them all smaller. There were numerous complaints from other passengers regarding the lack of adult activities at night. Adult pool in back of ship is an infinity pool which is beautiful when and if you can ever get in due to crowds. We thought the Marvel restaurant was horrible. Way too loud and just played movies the entire dinner. No way you could talk to others. The frozen restaurant was great. You really felt like you were in the movie and part of the engagement party. I think it could have been shortened by taking out the middle songs though. 1923 was my favorite!!! Was not able to get reservations at the other restaurants. Did not like the ship the first two days but things seemed to improve and we said we would go back on. Now being home a few days, not sure if we will. I would only go to try out the Encante restaurant which looked beautiful. I think we will stick with the other ships.

We were on the MV and the adult spaces are not large enough for any real dancing. The Triton Lounge was packed for the scavenger hunt and the stage in there could really only hold 5 people tops. It's designed for Karaoke, but without much of an audience because there aren't that many seats. Luna has some space as does Bayou, but you would have to move chairs/tables first, which they didn't do. They are also both open air venues, so the sound travels far down the corridors.

We thought Nightingale's was TINY! The piano takes up the entire middle of the space and the doors close so it is very loud in there with the piano/signing.

We liked Keg & Compass best, but it was packed full for trivia and frankly any scheduled event. I would hope on the "regular" cruises, it would be less popular.

We disembarked the Wish yesterday morning after our first adults only cruise which was very different for us. For once, we did not attend many of the adult activities at night (which did appear to be extremely full) but rather visited the lounges and listened to live music or sat up at Currents bar and stared at the Tower Suite wondering when they would actually close their curtains, lol. We loved Keg & Compass, which was busy for activities, but emptied out quickly following them. Nightingales was lovely and reminded me of Pink on the Dream and not ever full that we saw, and the Bayou had some wonderful musical acts at night. The Rose has a beautiful view during the day and was open late into the night for a quieter space. We never visited Luna nor Triton's except to make our Hyperspace Lounge reservation the first day. The spaces were definitely smaller than on other ships, and Keg and Compass could look very crowded with the long, community style tables down the middle rather than 2-4 tops spread out. The booths were comfortable. We found plenty to do after dinner and closed down one lounge after the next one night. The Wish is definitely different than the other ships so we had fun exploring and enjoying the new spaces with an open mind.

Sorry you got COVID; however, I'm not entirely sure what COVID has to do with the design or size of venues.

In addition, the size of these venues may actually be properly scaled based on a normal Disney sailing but since these sailings have been heavy adult sailings the scale is disproportionate at the time.

Like all the bars on the other ships, they are open for all until the evenings. Nightengale's has a piano. Dance club wise that I believe would be Luna. We'll probably not really know until an actual cruise happen.

Luna is an odd venue. If you are sitting in the balcony you can't get down to the dance floor unless you leave the venue and go find some stairs or the elevator and come back to the venue. I did not see any stairs that led from the balcony down to the lower level. If there is a way to get down to bottom of the venue within the venue please correct me.

During the MV on the last night they had the silent disco but it just felt off. There is no DJ that I am aware of so don't know about late night dancing. Luna was only club with any sort of dance floor that we saw.

When you saw the size of the venues and how tightly packed they were I think you would understand how easily Covid could be spread. The other ships have much better designs so that people are not on top of each other. Seeing that Covid is not going away anytime soon and people are catching it on ships, this should be taken into consideration when designing a new ship. Why go with something smaller for a ship that holds more people? Poor design which makes no sense.

It not "reduced to" they have Silent Disco on the other ships as well. It is a dance party where there are 3 different sets of headphones playing 3 different songs. It is a lot of fun to participate in and watch as people start singing out loud and everyone dancing to the song in their ears.
