Nightlife in Orlando??

My partner and myself are going to orlando on January 11th 2002 for 7 days and would like to hear from anyone about the nightlife in orlando around kissimmee and international drive. I am 30 and my partner is 25 and we are staying at the sheraton 4 points on route 192 in kissimmee so we are interested in going to clubs or bars for some fun and dancing. Any help is appreciated.

I don't recall any bars along I-192. There's a lot of t-shirt shops though. I would try Pleasure Island or Citywalk.

I've just got back from staying in International Drive. There are a few bars, Pointe Orlando is great - in XS ladies drink free on Wednesdays and don't miss the magic show in Wonderworks - all you can eat pizza and all you can drink beer or wine. There are about 8 bars in Pointe Orlando and 2 nightclubs which I believe get busy at weekends.

There is another bar - Bahama Breeze. It looked good but we didn't manage to get there.

The I-ride bus is great and runs up till 11.30pm so will take you right there and get you once the bars close.

Pleasure Island was the best night time complex and I was not too impressed with City Walk.

Ha! A nightlife in Orlando!?! Sadly thanks to Mayor Hood and former Orange Cnty Commisioner Chapin, our once thriving and internationally known club/bar scene died about 5 years ago. They instituted a 2am closing time, wich kind of limits ones nightlife.

As a former raver and clubber, let me tell you what constitutes as clubs around here leave something to be desired. The groove at citywalk is one of the few places I'll go. Xs at Point Orlando is alright, as are the other new clubs there metropolis/matrix. I recommend skipping pleasure island. If downtown isn't too far away for your tastes, hit up orange ave, orlando's main club corridor.

It all depends on what kind of music/atmosphere you're lookin for. If you let me know exactly what you're into, I might be able to give you some info.
