We will be going to Disneyland on July 10th. I am trying to figure out how to plan the night time entertainment. It will be our first time there. How would you plan to see the fireworks, parade and fantasmic in the same night ? I did book the standard river bell dining for fantasmic. Is fantasmic the same as the Disney World version ? If so, we might skip it then. Thanks for your help

It's possible but will take some planning and strategy. Two options:

- see the first showing of MSEP somewhere on Main Street and then stay out for the fireworks and then bee line it to the second showing of Fantasmic! Having a dinning package might help..

-see the first showing of Fantasmic! And stay put and see the fireworks from Rivers of America. They do the projections on the water. And then head for the second showing of MSEP somewhere..

I would be inclined to do it the second way.

Most folks- even WDW folks- state that Fantasmic at Disneyland is better. It's the same show but there are elements that are different. I would check it out.

If you already have the RBT premium package, I believe it is for the first showing. So you would watch F! there, then watch fireworks, and then the 2nd showing of MSEP. The only downside to trying to do all 3 in one night, is it is nearly impossible to get the best view by doing F! first. So you might want to drop that package, and go with the hub to do the 1st show of MSEP and watch fireworks, and then catch the 2nd show of F! by doing the regular RBT package and requesting second show.

Hopefully that helps!

Following this... Is it possible to do the WOC party and come back for the 2nd show of Fantasmic, for example? We will have 2 "full" nights only at DL in September. On the 3rd night, we need to leave for the airport around 6 PM. So I'm trying to see all night shows within those 2 nights....

That might work. The crowds move slowly out of WoC viewing area to exit the park so you can hop to DL, but the real risk is whether they will even have a second showing of F! in September. The 2 shows a night might go away when they switch to fall hours.

The nights are September 1st and 2nd, the long weekend of Labor Day weekend, so hopefully they will have them :)

Yeah that seems highly likely then! You should be ok. Are you planning on doing a dining package for F? That could improve your viewing location too.

Fantasmic usually always does 2 shows a night on the weekends. The issue in the fall is usually they switch to weekends only.

World of color is where it will likely go to one show a night at some point.

We were at DL the other night. Electrical parade crowd was huge, I would skip the early parade and do the late one

Thanks everyone. I think I might do fantasmic, fireworks then parade. If we can't get everything done, do you think I would be able to add a extra day at the last minute? We are staying at the Disneyland hotel if that helps. I have the woc dessert party scheduled for the day before. If I do fantasmic first can you just stay in that area to watch the fireworks? I'm not familiar with the areas

Yes you can. For the current show, Disneyland Forever, the best view to see all of the components of the show is in the hub so you can see the castle. We have stayed in the F! area to watch the previous show, Mickey's Mix Magic, and it was just fine from F! but we haven't seen Disneyland Forever yet.

Since this is a once in a lifetime kind of trip (to DL, we go to WDW almost every other year), we are planning on doing Fantasmic or MSEP packages for DL and Dessert package for WOC.

In that case, do the package for F and skip the package for MSEP. They only have packages for the first show, and the view is not at the hub, but instead the train station side. For the best/most complete experience of the fireworks show, you'll want to be in the hub. So plan on the 2nd show for Fantasmic if possible!

We also typically do a Fantasmic! dining package and stay where we saw it to watch the fire works. They had projections on the water on the Rivers of America. Next time we go we are planning this same thing and watching the MSEP after fireworks, but that would mean a very long day for us. The 2nd parade starts at 10:45 so it gives us about 45 min after the fireworks to find a spot. I'm concerned we might be burnt out for the next day as we are a rope drop family.

I'm worried about the same thing. It's going to be a long day. The kids will be exhausted. We are also coming from NY and the time difference will not help. I might just add on another day

 In the fall? As in Halloween time? We're only going to be there Monday through Thursday and I'm more excited about Fantasmic than just about anything else!

yes as in Halloween time. This was the normal schedule in the before times. Fantasmic was only at weekends, and as far as I remember the same with World Of Color. Weekdays outside of summer season did not have any shows or fireworks.

World of color always ran nightly even in the off season. It doesn’t have any pyrotechnics unless it’s a special occasion (4th of July, NYE).

There is still time to adjust to add Sunday or Friday if at all possible! My fingers are crossed for you and hoping it works out!
