Hi Guys

We have scheduled the night safari (we are staying at Jambo House) during our trip after a meal at Sanaa and are really looking forward to it. But we were wondering if the price was worth it as we are taking my MIL on what will probably be her last trip and know she would love to visit all the Harry Potter bits at Universal, which was not in the budget at all!

So basically, we are hoping you can give us your views on the night safari, a brief outline of events and how you felt about the price having experienced it. Then we can decide where to go. Our family are leaning more towards the Safari than Universal, but I would feel guilty if the Safari wasn't amazing and we had missed the chance at putting the money towards Universal/IOA tickets for my MIL.

Many Thanks

Hi we have just returned :( and did the night safari having stayed in Jambo House as well. You board the truck outside Kidani and there is a driver and a separate guide. They then drive round the back on to the hotel savannahs, past the support and sleeping buildings, essentially looking for animals! The guide we had was very informative and unlike Kilimanjaro Safaris the truck does stop frequently as and when you are near animals; you can get very close. It is a shame that don't do it during the day as although the night vision goggles are fun, photography etc. would be much better in daylight! You are out for about an hour before they drop you back at Kidani. I wouldn't say not to do it but if I had to choose that or Universal then I would choose the latter. The theming in the Harry Potter areas in phenomenal and I think this trumps the night safari.

Have fun on your trip, whatever you do will be great!

I haven't done the night safari, but...

The night safari will most likely still be there in a year or 2, your MIL, sadly, may not be. I'd probably run with the HP stuff this time, and promise yourself the Night safari next time.
