Hi guys... As most of you know, I am leaving in 5 days for Florida to marry my prince... I just have a question..

We are staying at the All-Star the first 3 nights we are there (to save money) b/c we are going on a cruise for the honeymoon. Anyways... we are staying at the Grand Floridian the night of the wedding. We chose that as our "free night." Do they do anything special for us? Will they try and give us a good room, possibly an upgrade, etc...?? I just didnt know if I should do something or if they try and make it special for us, considering we are only staying one night, and its free?

Thanks!!!!
Jamie

2 days of work left!!! :rotfl:  :rotfl:

You're so close! :cool1:

I think that they try to upgrade when possible, but there is certainly no guarantee. I think it completely depends on hotel occupancy. Either way, it's a lovely resort!

I was just wondering what you meant by your "free night". I haven't heard anything about that yet. But that is so exciting that you're getting married in 5 days! We will all be thinking about you and enjoy it!

Tinkerbelle14 - We are having a custom wedding, and with the custom you have to guarantee a certain number of nights will be rented by your guests (they get a discount rate). Once you meet your guarantee (which is easy), they give you a free night at the resort of your choice.

hope this helps

Jamie

We spent our Wedding night at the GF and they did upgrade us to a suite overlooking the Wedding Pavilion. It was beautiful. Our Wedding was May 2nd and it was not busy.
I'm sure if they can they will upgrade you, I would be sure to let your EM know to request it too.
Good Luck and Congratulations.

Just wanted to pop in and say "hi"!! Good luck to you next week and have a wonderful day! :flower: :flower:
I just mailed my final payment into Blossom for my flowers. I'm sure your flowers will be amazing!! Can't wait until you post the pics.

We also stayed at the Grand Floridian for our wedding night...It was excellent!! We got a suite overlooking the Wedding Pavillion and it was on the concierge level...(free food, snacks, drinks most of the day, plus a nifty gold passcard to the special concierge level of the hotel). I would imagine they try to give you one of the nicer rooms. I hope you get to stay in the same one as us. We saw 2 sets of fireworks in the distance and another wedding at the pavillion all without leaving the room. Enjoy, and don't froget to stop and take it all in....the day goes by so fast!!!!

Congratulations!! the GF is so beautiful whether you have a suite or not you will still enjoy it!!

I was wondering how many rooms do you have to reserve according to disney for a custom wedding and what kind of discount do they offer?

The room night requirements are posted on disneyweddings.com, but start at 25 room nights for 50 or fewer guests. As for the discounts, it depends upon the season your wedding takes place in and how many room nights you can guarantee. For example, someone guaranteeing 100 room nights gets a larger discount the someone promising 25 room nights. We promised 25 room nights and got: Yacht Club $255, Coronado Springs $144, and A*M $93 per night. This was for a 20 March 2004 wedding, which was the week pf spring break, so one of the highest priced seasons.

If you do not meet your room guarantee, you will not get the complimentary night (which is NEVER guaranteed to be anything other then a standard room at the resort of your choice), and you will have to pay for the missing room nighst at the lowest room rate you have in your block.

We spent one night at the GF before our intimate wedding.. Had a lodge tower room reserved. The suite was amazing... I had my hair and makeup done by disney the morning of the wedding with the balcony door ajar looking at the castle!

I have less than 30 guests, have to guatantee 30 room nights and my contract states a "honeymoon room at the GF" which is not standard. Not sure if that is because i only have deluxes in my room block or because of all the other events planned or what but i was thrilled when they told me that was the room.
