I just realized that Nights of Joy at MK are scheduled for 9/5-9/6, our last night/day at WDW. Are the crowds awful? I'm not particularly into Christian music, so it's not something I have to see, so I'm assuming if you don't care about seeing the bands that you should avoid MK. Is that right? Does it last all day, or is it just a night thing? If the bands are just at night, do the youth groups that attend come during the day anyway? I have absolutely nothing against teenagers, I'd just like to avoid any huge crowds if possible.

Thanks for any info.

I have been to Disney the first week of September before and it was great! There were no crowds at all, since most kids are back in school by then! We are going the first week of August this year, since my son is now in school, so I am hoping the crowds are not too bad! :)

have a great time! :)

The actual Night of Joy event is a hard ticket event that takes place after MK closes. If you are not into the music, don't buy a ticket. The crowds are insane. Riding rides is not what you want to do that night. We went last year and had a good time, but there were huge waits at all the rides. We were there to see the bands, and enjoyed them a lot. However, the youth groups were out of control. They made what few rides we were on not enjoyable at all. When my girls were in high school and if they attended an event like this with our youth group, I would have been embarrassed for them. There's no reason to be so out of control.

We did not see an increase in crowds during the day, but as the event approached, the crowds did increase. I'd avoid MK in the afternoon and evening the days of the event.

That was exactly the info I needed. I didn't realize it was an event that took place after the park closed. With the Sept hours not posted yet, I couldn't figure out how they did this. I'll bet MK closes early those nights. Thanks again!
