Night of Joy questions

I do not remember seeing characters last year.

And Skillet has been added to the lineup as of May 30 on wdwinfo.

Back on again? I think I might wait to buy tickets if this might be an on again off again thing. I'll go for them, only. Thanks for the heads up!

They were added back today, I bet they stick this time.

I WOULD LOVE to go to NOJ.

We've been to two skillet concerts - looooove them!

General Admission tickets aren't available yet but you may also want to look at Rock the Universe at Universal Studios Florida. https://www.universalorlando.com/Events/Rock-The-Universe/Event-Info.aspx It's the same weekend as Night of Joy at the MK. This year on on Saturday the headliners are Switchfoot and TobyMac. (The headliners Friday are Third Day, Newsboys and Jeremy Camp). Both Disney and Universal seem to alternate through the headliners. I know on Saturday night it would be a tough decision between Skillet (if they perform) and Casting Crowns at Disney or Switchfoot and TobyMac at Universal. I've never seen Casting Crowns live, Skillet is Pretty good, but TobyMac rocks the place.
Also, if you plan on going both nights, Universal normally offers a very good deal on tickets for Friday through Sunday and Concert tickets.

The Crowns are amazing live. They have such a long list of hits they could play for hours....we've seen them 3x, TobyMac 2x and Skillet 2x.

The Awake Tonight tour with TobyMac and Skillet was amazing! Third Day is awesome too.

Im not sure I could choose between Casting Crowns and Tobymac! wow! that a couple of nights of great music in Orlando!

For those of you that are able to attend... I am so jealous!!! Enjoy! There are so many bands that I would love to see both nights! :lovestruc

My wife and I went in 2012 to the Night of Joy and we will be returning in 2014. I put up a trip report on our web page and it may give you a better idea on what it is like to attend.

Some thoughts:
This time of year sees some of the lowest crowds at Walt Disney World. It is a great time to go.

Since there is no parade or Wishes (fireworks) the Friday and Saturday when Night of Joy takes place, Thursday evening is a little bit more crowded than expected, but still lower than a summer crowd. This is because this may be a the only night people can see them during their stay. If this is the only night you can see Wishes, don't let the bump in the numbers stop you. You'll be fine.

The mornings at Magic Kingdom during Night of Joy are wonderful; no crowds at all; many rides are walk-on or very short waits.

Once 4 PM comes, the number of people grow rapidly, then lessen as non ticket holders leave by 7PM. It will be packed at the front of the stages, but a little further back and you won't have problems being too crowded.

And one last thing. We did see long lines at the food concessions during the Night of Joy. So eat early or before you get there.
