We may squeeze in a trip in early Sept for Night of Joy :cool1:

My question is (and may have been answered in another thread, sorry to repeat), at what time in the evening does it start? Our 2 DS's, 3 & 6, usually nap if we're going to be out late (Illuminations, Fantasmic, etc.) But if the music doesn't start until really late, I don't think it will be worth it to go, to pay for 4 2-Night tickets, and only stay for the first 1/2 hour or so, and it wouldn't be fair to the kids to keep them out too late (obviously!).

Anyone out there have any experience, or knowledge on what time it all gets going? TIA! ::MickeyMo

You won't run into many families at Night of Joy, and very very few kids in the age range of yours. It's really a late-night, teens and adults kind of event. In fact, there's not even a children's price for tickets. You'll be paying full adult price for both of your kids.

The event starts at 7:30pm and runs until 12:30am.

I've never been to NOJ, but have ALWAYS wanted to go. The broadcasted in on TV I think a couple of years ago...maybe last year, I don't remember exactly (it was on the Hallmark Channel), but it was so awesome to watch. I've seen several of the singers in concert many times and I just love 'em....it be awesome to see them at WDW!!

Last year I went to all three nights, this year I will got to both nights. It is absolutely fun. I don't see all the performers, but I do like to catch some of my favorites like MercyMe. It is great just to walk through the park and listen to the music playing over the PA. Also, the lines are very short, so when there isn't a concert going on that I want to catch, I can get on all my favorite rides!

It is September 9,10 Here is a list of the artists playing, and on what night:

Friday, September 9
Steven Curtis Chapman
MercyMe
Casting Crowns
Audio Adrenaline
Mark Schultz
Nicole C. Mullen
Big Daddy Weave
Matthew West
Vicky Beeching
and, a content winner from the Gospel Music Association's "Music in the Rockies" event.

Saturday, September 10
newsboys
tobyMac
Donnie McClurkin
Cece Winans
Kutless
Tree 63
Superchic(k)
Further Seems Forever
stellar kart
Kierra "KiKi" Sheard
and, a contest winner from the Kellogg's Gospel Sing Off 2005

This year's lineup seems even better than previous year's (Tree 63 is amazing in concert), but I have to agree with the other poster who said that it is a VERY late night for folks with kids your age. if you decide to do it, I would say go ahead and skip the parks during the day, sleep in, and just do NOJ during the night. Then it wouldn't be too horribly bad.

We'll be there and taking our DD, she LOVES music! Some of her faves are playing.....

Ugh..runs late yes, and then after the park closes, the bands practice all night long. We were at GF last year during this..what a nightmare.
