DH is going to be in WDW for a convention in Sept., so DD and I will be flying down on 9/9 and staying through 9/14 (convention is over on 9/10). I understand that the "Night of Joy" festivities will be going on around that time too. Should we expect huge crowds in the parks? We were hoping for light crowds because schools will be back in session. Has anyone been to WDW when the "Night of Joy" is there?

Thanks for any info!!

I was there last year during this time.

The main problem I had was that the MK closed on nights of the concerts at 6:00 pm. We didn't see much change in crowds except for late in the day at the MK. Generally, there were a lot of people coming when we were going.

Now, we didn't have problems with any crowds, BUT I must mention that there was a major hurricane on Labor Day weekend last year (we arrived on the Tuesday after Labor Day), so WDW in general was deserted on Tuesday & Wednesday of that week, with only a small rise in attendance Thursday - Saturday (the concerts were on Thursday, Friday and Saturday). Lines even on Saturday at the MK were almost non-existent.

Nighttime crowds are fine, since DD is only 2 and we won't be out at the parks after dinner. Has anyone else experienced the Night of Joy crowds???

Hopefully the hurricanes will stay away!:)
